My kids have a serious case of short-timer-student-itis. We don’t get out until June 22 but it hasn’t stopped them from acting like they’re out of school. Not doing homework, playing outside until called for dinner and staying up way past regular bedtime.
I have it too. Can’t we just end school now […]

Leil’s 3rd grade teacher was totally awesome this year. One of those teachers you hope your child is fortunate enough to experience once or twice in their school life. Alice has her own groove going. An eclectic mix of local environmental issues, cultural studies, volunteer work and a good sprinkling of Eleanor […]

Gifts were photographed, wrapped and packaged for the mail yesterday. Cheshire, Connecticut. Housatonic, Massachusett. Ironton, Missouri. Atwater, California. Now it’s time to wait and cross my fingers that they make it to their destinations before the big day.
The girls and I made these gift tags for the presents. I found […]

Things I’ve learned this week:
- Those cool, white, retro leather gloves that never fit my hand in the thrift store are the perfect size for a child’s hand.
- Threading the serger correctly results in a better seam.
- The glue gun IS the best crafting tool ever invented.
- Cheap costume satin is very […]
