Yes, I changed the name of Fat Quarter Tuesday. After changing the format of the giveaway last week it seemed appropriate to continue to evolve the theme of this weekly ritual.
Change is good. Extra diligence is required on my part to keep that in the forefront. New ideas always lead me down a path of discovery I hadn’t imagined before. And by definition couldn’t have even possibly visualized yet since several steps needed to be taken before I could peek around the corner. The part where faith and forging into the rather scary forest come into play.
I don’t really like having things too set in stone, it begins to feel like an item on my to-do list rather than the joy that writing this blog has always brought.
Anyway, that’s a long winded way of saying things will continue to change on the blog and I do hope you find enjoyment in the unexpected as well as anticipated. I promise a few thrilling surprises and some really bad ideas (hopefully not many!) that will land like a thump and make us all yawn! A good sense of humor keeps me from taking the failures too personally.
To that end I’m changing the name of the weekly giveaway to Sewing is Fun. Something different to keep it fresh. We’ll see where it goes…
So, an early New Year’s Toast to adventures and trying new things in 2012! Have a great week and Happy Sewing! xo Kathy

I love being able to sew because when I see something I like at the store I can say ” I can make that!”
Sewing is fun because it means I’m not cooking or cleaning!
I can’t really say why I think Sewing is Fun, I just do, though my husband doesn’t get it at all!
Because I can make something, but it doesn’t take a year (like my knitting did
)!
I just joined my first block swap! So much fun! I also joined another QAL…again…fun!
Sewing is fun!!!
I love all the new Melody Miller stuff, just need to decide how to spend my voucher on it
D
I think Sewing is fun because it helps me relax – stabbing needles into fabric being less arrest-worthy than sticking them into colleagues
I think sewing is fun because it enables me to create beautiful things that are unique.
The amount that can be created (by hand!) and the joy on someone’s face when you give a hand-made gift is the most fun.
Sewing is relaxing and rewarding. Nothing like completing a project and being able to tell people I made that. It just makes me feel good!
Sewing is fun because it makes me feel that all of the women in my family who have shown me something about sewing are around me at my machine. I get a lot of energy from making them proud and carrying on our family’s love of sewing. And I am thrilled at the idea of giving a handmade gift and seeing the recipient’s reaction. Every day I am thankful for this passion.
Sewing is fun because…it involves color and texture and form and function and license to make a beautiful mess! –and one has something to show for it at the end; bonus!
I love seeing how different fabrics make projects look totally different, and playing with colors. That is what makes sewing fun to me!
I find the simplest joy in creating a handmade item for someone as a gift. I think most people appreciate the time and effort it takes. Within that time and effort is a solitude that belongs to only me.~
I think sewing is fun because it is full of colors, shapes and a tangible result! kathie L in Allentown
I recently started sewing, and I find it very relaxing. I look forward to taking a bit of time to work on my latest project. My husband’s working out of state, so this gives me something to do after work.
I think sewing is fun because I’m always learning something new and each new fabric line I encounter inspires me to try a new project.
the fabric selections that yall present each week are so wonderous, that it would be an honor to win any of them. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITIES TO WIN EACH WEEK………….
I think sewing is so fun because the possibilities are endless! I love thinking of new ideas of what to make for my home and family!
I cannot get over how each week, you have more really neat fabrics to sell…for me to view! Lol, Christmas shopping wiped me out, but soon and very soon, I’ll be able to shop! I love that typewriter fabric! and the seam tape, and … and…and…. lol!
Happy New Year!

Sewing is relaxing and rewarding. I love thinking of new ideas of what to make for my home and family!
Sewing is fun because it is my creative outlet…I can play with color and dream! And even make things!
Sewing is fun because one gets to use pretty fabrics to create something according to one’s own creative vision. To look at a finished item is such a rewarding feeling.
I think sewing is Fun! It relaxes me and lets me get lost in my own creative flow. I love to learn new things or maybe just a new way to do something I’ve been doing a different way for years. I love sewing as it has many different ways it can be done, by machine, applique or hand piecing. Sewing can be used to make something to wear, something to use or to make something pretty to look at. I Love Sewing and I Think Sewing is Fun!
Thank you for your giveaway and for the chance to win. You are so Generous to do this every week. Have a Happy New Year and may it hold Tons of Blessings for You.

I like accomplishing things and sewing allows me to do that. And each time I sew I get better and learn something new.
Sewing is fun because it is the escape from the usual routines that keep the family fed and clothed – it’s time for me and my reward (for getting the other jobs out of the way!) and I learn new things, play with delicious fabrics, it’s creative and productive and I use my brain and my creative side at the same time…ah pure bliss!
Sewing is fun! I love the endless creativity and variety in fabrics and all the inspiration from bloggers. I love this typewriter fabric! Thank you for the giveaway!
Nothing beats robots!!! Great fabrics and notions. Glad the holidays were wonder full.
Sewing *is* fun! To be able to take fabric, needle and thread and put your creativity and time into it and end up with something that *you* made with your own two hands–it’s just so exciting and satisfying, I think… sort of like when a chef takes various ingredients and creates a delicious dish– or when a painter takes paint and canvas and creates a masterpiece…
Nice !!! Would be great if I win these cute fabrics !!!

What fun fabrics!! I love to sew!! It’s my therapy! I have so much fun matching and contrasting fabric and embellishments.
Love the fabric. great for 2012 projects!
Kathy, I’m curious if you have a favorite baby pattern quilt and fabric line that could be used for either a boy or a girl. I’m expecting Baby #3 at the end of March and I’m struggling to find the right pattern. I’d like a spring theme but I just can’t find the right fabrics.. If you’ve seen anything lately that inspired you to think spring, let me know! Thanks!
Sewing really is a lot of fun! I love to get compliments on my bags, and I can then say “I made it!” “Why, yes, I am a sewing rock star!” LOL
Nice new name! I think sewing is fun, because I love to pair interesting fabrics together into a patchwork…anything.
I love sewing because I love to see how a bunch of fabric can turn into something wearable!
I love to sew because you can personalize items to the recipient. It also allows you to show your creativity, but also your precision! Thanks for the chance to win!
I love to sew because it’s a great creative outlet and it is my mental therapy.
sewing is relaxing and fast and i think we should go back to the times when it was a requirement for children to know, i wish someone would have taught me when i was younger!
I love the satisfaction of making something unique and special.
That New Ruby Star fabric is so lovely. I really like the variety you have in your shop!
Sorry, forgot the reason why I think Sewing is Fun! It is fun because I am able to create something that lasts.
Unlike a meal or cleaning….
Sewing is fun because it’s the most creative thing I do.
Sewing is fun in my world filled poopy butts, sleepless nights, feeding five times a day, cooking three warm meals every single day and driving east and west for my son’s special school and therapy appts.
I meditate when I sew and sleep. I also make awesome bags for me and friends
. Sewing is solace in my life filled with duties and living thousands of miles away from family and close friends with whom I grew up for the first twenty five years of my life.
Sewing is fun because it lets me explore my creativity in many ways!
Sewing is fun because I can shot myself off from the rest of the world and create something beautiful!
Sewing is fun cause I love to create things that people love or make things I need.
I loves the stuffs that are handmade
Happy New Year!!
Thanks for a great giveaway!
delving into sewing has been so fun and satisfying… something that I can do for myself (even when I’m making things for others)
I get to design and use my creativity. And it’s really fun to make and give away gifts.
its fun as I can express myself through my sewing! thanks!
