Yes, I changed the name of Fat Quarter Tuesday. After changing the format of the giveaway last week it seemed appropriate to continue to evolve the theme of this weekly ritual.
Change is good. Extra diligence is required on my part to keep that in the forefront. New ideas always lead me down a path of discovery I hadn’t imagined before. And by definition couldn’t have even possibly visualized yet since several steps needed to be taken before I could peek around the corner. The part where faith and forging into the rather scary forest come into play.
I don’t really like having things too set in stone, it begins to feel like an item on my to-do list rather than the joy that writing this blog has always brought.
Anyway, that’s a long winded way of saying things will continue to change on the blog and I do hope you find enjoyment in the unexpected as well as anticipated. I promise a few thrilling surprises and some really bad ideas (hopefully not many!) that will land like a thump and make us all yawn! A good sense of humor keeps me from taking the failures too personally.
To that end I’m changing the name of the weekly giveaway to Sewing is Fun. Something different to keep it fresh. We’ll see where it goes…
So, an early New Year’s Toast to adventures and trying new things in 2012! Have a great week and Happy Sewing! xo Kathy

Sewing is my ‘me time’!!
To me the joy of sewing is the simple joy of creation — bringing something into the world that didn’t exist without you. How cool is that????
Sewing is fun, creative, challenging, appreciated, & a skill that bonds you to others.
Sewing is fun because you can see your completed project full of your inspiration and work. You can feel the fabric in your hands as you let it feed forward through the machine, transforming it from something merely flat to something with design, form and purpose. You can follow a pattern you love, or you can create one of your own.
Wow, these are all awesome new fabrics… I might need some of each…
Easy. Sewing makes me happy.
I can be an artist! I can’t draw, can’t sculpt, but I can create a masterpiece with fabric!
sewing is creating and is therapudic for me, thats why I joined a quilting club!
I love to make new from old and new from scraps and it makes me happy seeing cuts put together again.
Sewing is fun because it’s so rewarding and there is always something new to learn! All the fabric and notions are lots of fun to play with too! Thanks for the great giveaway!
Sewing is fun because it has a structure, some process and an outcome — planning, doing, reward. I like how straight-forward the challenge can be and that there is a tactile reward at the end to admire.
Sewing is indeed fun – right now I’m attempting a skirt for a 1 year old
