The Day After Christmas

Having Christmas fall on a Sunday meant I was able to close the shop for a 4-day weekend. I’ve squeezed a lot of family time into that 96 hours. Today we’ve all stayed in, made pancakes and bacon for breakfast, and spent the day doing nothing in particular. I’m organizing my sewing room, getting ready for all the big ideas swirling around in my head for 2012. I’m leaning toward re-sorting my dots by color into my stash. Ah, if life could always be so simple!

Merry Christmas and now HAPPY NEW YEAR! Those dots are looking good…they like to stay together. You know, find one dot fabric and they’re all together…just saying!
Don’t just love family time; we had a wonderful time chatting and catching up!

I always take a few days to do nothing after the holidays, we all need that sometimes. I am getting antsy though, need to stitch;) I have been collecting dots and circles and thinking of making a circle, circle quilt.

that says a lot about how you’re enjoying your time off…that figuring out where to stash your dots in the stash is the biggest decision to make today. Yippee! Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got in store for 2012. Happy Holidays!

Happy New Year to you. I look forward to seeing more fabric temporarily passing through you but ultimately on it’s way to me ;-)

I love dots as well and have started collecting various colors of them as I’ve used them in many quilts the last few months.

Ah, the simple things are the best things (and if they have a side of bacon, well, that doesn’t hurt either!). So glad you’re enjoying time with your family, Kathy. Can’t wait to see how you realize all your creative ideas in the New Year! I’m sure they will be as wonderful as you are. xo

Sorting your fabrics, the dots, gave me pause to re-evaluate my fabric stash and how it is sorted, not to mention how low I am on the basics like dots, stripes, time to place an order and restock my basic stash. Thanks so much for an unintentional nudge,
