Fat Quarter Tuesday Giveaway – Sandi Henderson Secret Garden + Laminated Cotton

Sandi Henderson took first place in the double booth category at the Spring 2011 Quilt Market. The strike offs for Secret Garden barely arrived days before the show. You’ll spot prior collections mixed into the samples, a beautiful display of her aesthetic and color eye growing, evolving and emerging while staying true.

In looking at this photo again I realized that the yellow on the booth walls is a perfect match to the yellow in Secret Garden. What a lovely detail!

The Lock and Key print is a favorite. The scale, color and detail of the artwork is just plain joyful to look at!

And then there’s the Garden Gate medallions, Wow!  (12″ square, we measured)

Happy, happy fabric.

Diana pulled the perfect solids to match:  Free Spirit Designer Solids Red PlumBella Solids TealKona Cotton Dresden Blue, Kona Cotton LemonBella Solids Pistachio (more coming!), and Free Spirit Designer Solids Flamingo.

The April in Paris Collage print from Timeless Treasures arrived last year printed on canvas. I think it’s safe to say many of us have a piece sitting in our stash or made up into a project. We re-ordered that bolt quite a few times!

Now there’s April in Paris Collage Laminated Cotton!

We also have other laminated lovelies perfect for a cute craft apron, tote bag bottom, or lunch bag. Be sure to check out our tips on sewing with Laminated Cotton.

I’m about to start sewing up a tote bag for a friend. I’ve made 4 this summer and I think this is the last of this style so I am looking around for something new. With school starting next week, I hope to have more time to sew!
Love the laminates! Wow! More tote bags maybe ;-)

I’m working on three quilts right now….one for my son, one for my living room, and one Christmas themed (either for my home or for a gift — have to see if I finish it and what it looks like!).

I’m also getting ready to order your mailbag pattern and some Sweetwater canvas to make a bag for my daughter that will hold her anatomy text….

Hi! Love your posts. So nice to look at all the new fabrics. I’m working on a quilt -got the top done, just need the back and binding. It’s my first one, so it’s taking some time. I also have a Halloween costume in the line-up for fall. I’d love to get some of that laminated fabric and do the booster seat in the One Yard Wonders book.
    Have a great day!

I just got the cutest pattern for a kindergarten bag that was actually asking for laminated fabric. I’m so in love with all these new laminated fabrics out there, and what a great choice for children bags… I can’t wait to see how it looks!!

OMG! summer totem laminate!!! My heart is racing, LOVE IT!

For fall, I continue on childrens clothes…ofcourse; though I DID say that I would make my self a coat this fall (after success on a childs lined jacket this spring.) A bold home decore fabric like temple tulips by A.B. would be my choice

My heart is set on a quilt, but perhaps that will be a winter project after Christmas sewing….Casserole cozies for my sisters-in-law…shhhhh……

Thank you for hosting this giveaway!

For fall, I’ll be working on tote bags for grocery shopping (we never have enough of these), inspired by the work of Green Bag Lady, her blog is here:

    http://greenbaglady.blogspot.com/

Green Bag Lady and friends have produced and GIVEN AWAY over 17,000 tote bags!! I am shamelessly plugging her whenever I can, as I think the work that the team does is awesome.

I would also like to make a teddy bear out of my dear departed Dad’s old corduroy pants and tweed jacket. Just hesitant to start it, not sure what pattern to use .. any suggestions would be welcome.

I have many ongoing projects from hand-stitching contemporary Dear Jane, and Farmer’s wife and wrapping up some special quilts. But the project I have been looking forward to for Fall is an Amish nine-patch in the Fat quarter bundles of Moda Crossweaves I got from you! Can’t wait!

I have a fascination for cloth dolls (clothes, beds, quilts, etc.). The book AT PIECE WITH TIME has a very simple cloth doll and quilt. I have wanted to make them for years. Happy to say I started on them yesterday and should have them finished in a few days. I only allow my self to work on them when I have worked on boring things, like tying a pieced quilt, first.

What am I sewing this fall? It is my hope to finish the 3 different quilts I have in various stages of completion and start a fourth quilt. Plus I have a request from my oldest teen for a couple of button front, long sleeved shirts and with the nights getting cooler, I think I need some new flannel jammie pants. ;o) I’m going to be having some sewing fun!

Thanks for your generous giveaways, Kathy. Happy sewing!
