Ooh, how fun, I’m excited to see how these work out! Also, I wonder how the capelet would look in a heavier, wool type of fabric?
Looking forward to the capelet, I’m also thinking that velveteen might also be a good choice of fabric for it.
those leg warmers look interesting and I didn’t get the photo of the caplet ~ it was available for some reason or other. Looking forward to the finished projects!
I’m excited to see pictures of the finished cape. I think it is hard to see in the book. Have fun sewing!
I can’t see the photo of the capelet, but I know exactly which one it is because I have the book. I’m dying to make something out of the Loulouthi voile, so I can’t wait to see this one!
The Caplet was out to lunch for a minute. The glitch should be fixed now.
The spats…does anyone wear things like that? Liked the cape.
These two projects make me smile — I can’t see myself every wearing them, but I love that there are sassy girls out there somewhere who will! And I love your additional fabric options this week! Have you been doing that before and I just missed it? In any event, great idea!
I must confess that I thought these two were some of the more unusual projects in the book. Not ones that I will be making but this is why I love that you are doing this – I’m curious to see your take on them.
Perfect choice of the Hot Chocolate Grunge fabric for the spats – I’ll bet people try to figure out if its worn leather!
Ooh, I love that tribal floral fabric! It’ll be interesting to see these projects completed!
Interesting projects for the week, I especially like that cape. Can’t wait to see how they both turn out!
I don’t wear spats but still am quite interested on how they look when you are done. Now that caplet looks adorable and love both fabric choices.
I have this book and I don’t remember seeing the mod caper. I must take a second look. Voile is a great choice…its so cute!
Great projects, a bit too hot for now;)
I was looking at summer tops with the ties, might be a good project for me to learn with.
Debbie
I suppose it’s time to start planning that type of sewing even though it’s not needed now.
I’ll be curious to hear what it’s like to sew with the voile, and get any tips that might result. I love letting you try things out first, so I can learn from your experiences.
Those look like fun projects! The grunge fabric looks great and the voile is so lovely! I’m looking forward to how they turn out!
I really like your extra fabric choices — the tiny gingham makes me think of London, which seems perfect for spats!
The cape caught my eye when I first got the book. The voile choices are very pretty and would be perfect for a summer cover up. Can’t wait to see and hear how it turns out!
I hope you show them on actual people. I’m interested to see how the spats look in the neutral fabric.
love the merlot valori wells fabric- great choice!
The cocoa seems like a safe choice for the leg warmers

I had ‘One Yard Wonders’ a long time on my wishlist and thanks to your sew Along I finally bought it! Thx!!!
I can’t wait to see that cape made up in the AMH voile — luscious!
Wow, I’m loving the Valori Wells Jenaveve Linen Tribal Floral Merlot
While spats are not on my list (here in my area of Florida the overnight low was a record high of 80), that hot cocoa grunge fabric is great. I’m anxious to see how the mod project will look as is difficult for me to visualize. Thanks for the alternate fabric snapshot.
Beautiful fabric choices, can’t wait to see the projects!
I never would have thought to make the cape out of voile! Can’t wait to see how it turns out.
