Tina Given’s whimsical spirit leaps off the pages of her first book: Sew Tina! 30 Cute Projects & Adorable Decor Items for Kids. The book is beautifully produced with inspiring photography, original illustrations, spiral bound pages, and full-sized pattern sheets for many of the projects.
The clothing projects range from infant to size 7/8. Additional projects include a crib quilt, soft book, cushion, a stuffed pig, wall art, backpack, and a sleeping bag and tote.
Tina’s signature style is sprinkled like fairy dust throughout the designs, text, illustrations, and photo images. Sew Tina! was the perfect title for this book. Each turn of the page unfolds a magical, visual surprise.
As sewists, most of us are familiar with Tina as a fabric designer. Her amazing art graces numerous fabric collections for Free Spirit Fabrics (her next collection will be shown at Quilt Market next week). Her designs also appear on stationery and gift products.

Luella’s Coat. My favorite project in the book. I need this in an adult size!

These Brookies are adorable. Tina includes different finishing options along with the basic pattern. The one shown in the center has an added ruffle in the seam line. She also shows how to finish off the leg openings with either binding or elastic.

Each pattern includes hand drawn construction illustrations. Most include at least one cute kid picture. Goodness, look at those tiny pink Converse!

Magical whimsy featured prominently in each design.

Cute, cute, cute. Lots of great gift giving ideas.
