Little Susan

In case you were wondering what we do when we’re not cutting fabric.

Susan and I both got dolls for Christmas. The American Sewing Guild chapter to which we both belong has a yearly raffle of 18″ doll clothes made by members. We both totally needed our dolls in order to do a proper job of making the clothes (hee, hee).

Susan made herself a rain hat using the downloadable Many Hats pattern by Sew Mad. She scaled down the design to make a matching one for Little Susan. Little Susan is quite the ham and very easy to work with. A very fun photo shoot!

I have dolls :) No need to make excuses it is just fun to dress them up… especially when you have a 12 yr old girl that won’t let you dress her up anymore… she wants to wear grey… everyday…grey.

I hear you on that one Jewel, Caitlin did a freezer paper stencil on her grey sweatshirt last weekend, I’m hoping it leads her to being more creative with the uniform.

Too cute! I love the hat and little Susan. We happen to have a collection of American Girl dolls at our house that I’m sure would love some new accessories :-) . My daughter is a Senior in High School but still finds the time to dress the dolls seasonally. Does the hat pattern adjust easily for adults? I find I usually want a little bit bigger hat.

As my mother points out, I LOVED my Barbie dolls as a kid and played with them for quite a long time! I’m ecstatic at owing a doll again. Much to my disappointment, neither Caitlin or Leil would ever play with Barbie (except for Peter Pan, remember that specialty set?, who often flew around our house with no clothes on).

Katie got an American Girl doll for Christmas from my parents and it’s very important for them to have many outfits (as I’m told). I love that little hat, what a great idea.

they can never have too many clothes, the good thing is they don’t outgrow them after putting all that work in!

No dolls in my house – but I love the hat! I’ve been searching for a cute rain hat, now I’ll just make my own!

I’ll try to call you sometime soon, it’s been too long.
