Good Company

Jacquie from Tallgrass Prairie Studio and Katie from Sew Katie Did came by yesterday afternoon for the most lovely visit. I’m still smiling from all the good vibes these two fabulous women brought with them.

We talked sewing, quilting, blogging, business, fabric, and more sewing and quilting for the better part of 4 hours. It went much too quickly. Jacquie was visiting all the way from Kansas City. She did a trunk show at Fabric Crush (now located in their new Wallingford Center digs) on Tuesday evening.

I was the high bidder on this quilt in Jacquie’s fundraising auction for Haiti. The title of the quilt is ‘pink neighborhood’. It fits so perfectly here. I feel like all the friends I’ve made through the world of sewing and quilting form one big, fabulous neighborhood full of friendly, strong, creative, supportive, kind, inspiring, and engaging women and I’m so incredibly lucky to live here. Thanks for being my neighbor. xo Kathy

Oh, that little pink quilt is so perfect, along with your pink chair and your totally awesome desk with that gorgeous laminated fabric.

That looks like an amazing gathering of women! It must have been a fantastic time. I really regret not being able to make it to Fabric Crush for Jacquie’s trunk show.

What a wonderful opportunity to meet some bloggers in person! I hope that happens more in this shrinking world. Sounds like you had a great visit. Congrats on the winning bid of that adorable pink neighborhood quilt – I love it.

Looks like so much fun. *S* I used to live out there in the Wallingford neighborhood, but there was never anything as exciting as a fabric store anywhere around!

There was an XXX rated bakery tho. *L*

How lovely to have a visit from Katie and Jacquie!
I subscribe to their blogs and am always inspired by their gorgeous creations. I wish I could see Jacquie’s selvedge quilt in person, you lucky Seattle people!

Love your neighbourhood quilt, the internet has really made such a difference to the modern day quilting community – now it doesn’t matter what the distance or how many oceans are between us, we’re all neighbours! LOVE the tablecloth! :-)
