These lovely young women are Coral Springs, Florida high school student’s from Mrs. Goodman’s Fashion Class.

I’ve been totally flipping out over the FABULOUS Mail Sacks they created! These images capture all the incredibly beautiful things that make sewing an important and amazing craft. I’m so inspired by and proud of them all. They are so lucky to have such a hip and talented teacher. Way to go students and Mrs. Goodman!

Thank you SO MUCH for all the nice comments on the previous post. I smiled as I read each one. I’m truly touched and overwhelmed by the positive vibes you guys send me. xo Kathy

I want to be in that class. The Mail Sacks are great! What a fun project it’s wonderful to see all the different personalities. Kathy, I’m sure the photos gave you a great big smile.
I loved all the variations too, each one is so creative and unique. Young sewists are so fearless!
Way to go, teacher and girls! What a fun way to learn to sew! Kathy, i bet you’ve got a new young following on your blog now! What fun! We are all so excited about your move and seeing all of your wonderful fabrics via the blog photos! We love you!
I thought the same thing, what a fantastic project to engage a young sewist (of course I’m a bit biased on the choice!). A project they’ll remember forever.
I took fashion merchandising in high school and these pictures brought back so many fond memories. Truly amazing girls doing amazing things with the help of an amazing teacher.
It brought back lots of fond memories for me too Em, Mrs. Scott was my home ec teacher and she taught me lessons on finishing that I still carry with me. I LOVE sewing teachers!
So great to see them all look so confident in themselves… showing off their hand made bags!
I thought the same thing Christine, the confidence just spills out of their smiles, love, love, love to see that in teenage girls.
Absolutely beautiful bags – how wonderful to be learning such a valuable skill.
it seems that learning sewing in high school is a shrinking option, I was so excited to hear about this example of it still being taught.
TRuly the way to snag the next generation of sewistas!
I agree Mary Ann, what lucky girls they are to have a teacher that can guide and teach them with such a useful and creative sewing project. I look forward to seeing what they create next now that the wheels are turning.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this picture. I just bought the Mail Sack pattern and will be making some for my teenage daughter and myself. We couldn’t decide which size was better for her, and with this visual, we can tell the smaller would be better for her. What a neat class!
How cool! And wonderful that they’ve been taught this amazing skill. I think teaching someone to sew is one of the best gifts you can give a person– bravo teacher and students!
Those are great photos. The young ladies look so proud of themselves and the Mail Sacks look like something that they will definitely use (unlike the wrap skirt I vaguely remember swing in my Jr High Home Ec class). Mrs. Goodman is truly inspired, and so are you Kathy for having designed a product with such a wide appeal!
It’s such a great sight! I know your proud of your pattern being so well liked but also of seeing all those great girls sewing up gorgeous bags! Everyone around here loves mine, too. It’s the perfect fit.

I love the photo’s and to see such lovely young artists! They all look so happy and proud.
I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100% sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
