Not if you sent an e-mail to kathy (at) pinkchalkstudio (dot) com in the last week or kathy (at) pinkchalkfabrics (dot) com in the past month.
This is probably my biggest self-inflicted technical mess to date. Please contact me if you have not received a response to an e-mail.
I switched over several of my e-mail addresses to Google Apps several weeks ago. That went amazingly smooth. It’s a fabulous product, it solved many of the issues I was trying to tackle. It’s gmail for business. A full blown server based e-mail application. The key feature is that I can access my e-mail accounts from any client and everything is kept in sync by Google Apps in one place on the server. This includes my iPhone, laptop, and Apple Mail when I’m on my desktop. I can also log in from any computer directly to gmail and access the account. And when I say ‘in sync’ I’m referring to the server side keeping track of categories, sent e-mails and replies for multiple e-mail addresses. Mobile Me was a HUGE disappointment when I realized it only does these things when you forward all your e-mail addresses to a single Mobile Me address. Apple usually gets it right but not in the case of Mobile Me.
My First Wrong Turn: when I was updating my Apple Mail to receive e-mail from Google Apps I had to delete the original e-mail addresses and re-create them with the new settings. If you do this you, please copy all the messages in your current inbox to a folder first. Deleting the address deletes the current inbox. Of course it does. Ouch. All gone.
Second Wrong Turn: don’t remove ALL of your MX entries. The mail won’t know where to go. I did this for Pink Chalk Studio. I thought it had been a relatively quiet week on the e-mail front. I haven’t been receiving any external e-mail for Pink Chalk Studio since February 15.
Everything is fixed, the e-mail faucet is running again. Send away!

I’M HOME!! I’m loving finding out how all of this done and how other people deal with changes and wrong turns in ‘fixin’ computer technology!!!! You go girl! Keep it up! WE love you and your great blog and website! i’m about to go searching for more fabric for my redecorating projects!
Thank you Ann! Talking about it keeps it in perspective. When did we get so tied to technology?
I’m glad it all worked out.
I LOVE that quilt block. Great combination of fabrics.
I promise to blog about Cog + Wheel next
love, love, love the fabrics in this block!
Kathie
ughh – computer issues are always frustrating but glad to hear you’ve gotten everything back on track (and I would have never been able to do all that!)…love the quilt – your corners are Perfect!!
Yep, little OCD about matching the seams.
Love your patterns and your blog. Thank you so much for sharing how to – and how NOT to – do things! Have learned so much from you!
I LOVE sharing the how NOT to things, thank you Joan!
Those look so wonderful. I can’t EVER get my corners to match up like that…sad face.
Kathy! Wow! I can hardly keep up with you these days! A new shop, published, TV taping… I’m so happy for you! I see Mrs. (Scott) Cox at least once a month at Mina Sauk. I mention you every now and then and “brag” on all your success.
I really want to thank you for the inspiration! I’m working on a couple of very simple projects (I’m embarrassed to even tell you what they are); nothing new.. something I’ve done over and over, but for some reason.. it’s just giving me fits… (Maybe teaching my Jr High students is throwing me.. Haha)
I’ve been working on these same projects for days after I come home from work and am just ready to be done with them, so that I can move on to new projects. I became so frustrated with myself tonight
I finally just put them away. I decided to check out your studio; WOW! I’m always inspired by your success! Good Job!
