Susan made this fabulous Mail Sack for her son’s school auction.

I LOVE how she used the August Fields Fresh Start Forest on the bottom of the bag. Perfect scale. (Joel Dewberry Tossed Flowers Celery on the Yoke and Straps, Amy Butler Love Collection Sun Spots Mint for the lining).
I think about fabric combinations for the Mail Sack all the time. I’m always delightfully surprised to see them made up. They take on a unique personality in final form. Let the bidding begin!

I am sure there will be plenty of interest at the auction on this mail sack! Lovely choice of fabric! Kathy, I too am always thinking of how different fabric will look on the finished mail sack. I am in the processes of making a large one for a friend for her birthday and another mini sack for another friend I have known since kindergarden. A good 32 years ! It is some much fun to pick the fabric with dear friends in mind.
Yay for you making gifts for friends! I’ll share two more Mail Sacks I made for my sisters later in the week. It takes me FOREVER to choose the fabrics!
i have made a similar monks bag which i have so enjoyed. i like the curve at the top, where would one find the pattern?
The Mail Sack pattern is one that I designed. You can find it in independent quilt & fabric stores throughout the US and in my online shop here:
