Meditation

I’ve been working, working, working. Too much to be truthfully honest. I’m determined to successfully balance what I love to do with making a living from what I love to do. To that end I took the day off. Amid the chaos of what has become a very blurred line between work and home, I headed to my sewing room for some recreational quilting.

It was love at first sight when I saw Denyse Schmidt’s new Cog + Wheel quilt pattern. I knew it would be over-the-top, precise template piecing. So worth it because the design is so incredibly awesome. Not sure I have the stamina for a King size (it’s tempting) but the Baby is satisfying my desire to immerse myself in the details. It completely swept me away for the day. Placing all those pins is truly meditative. My energy and focus has been restored and I’m looking forward to dreaming of creative ideas tonight instead of to-do lists.

The kids are off school for two more days, I’m hoping to do more yoga quilt making tomorrow.

It’s wonderful to be “lost” in craft. Wishing you a great day tomorrow. I am enjoying the long weekend and hope to sew Monday too.

Hope you have a wonderful day meditating. I purchased the Proverbial Quilt pattern from you. Maybe I’ll “meditate” as well on the holiday.

Good for you! When your life’s passion turns into your life’s work, it can be hard to remember the pleasure of it all, but days like that are what it’s all about. I’m glad you got in some you-time quilting.

I just wanted you to know that I met Amy Butler this evening and she was showing her laminated fabric. I told her what a lovely FAQ you did here on your blog regarding this subject and specifically using her fabric. She was happy to hear about it and said she would look it up. Just wanted to share!
