Churchmouse Yarns + Teas Now Online

Churchmouse Yarns & Teas is my local yarn shop and purveyor of endless knitting inspiration. They also carry the best black tea I’ve ever drank. I’m pretty much a grocery store tea shopper but have become so addicted to the Steven Smith Teamaker they stock I now make special runs to Churchmouse to buy it.

The Churchmouse e-mail newsletter greeted me in my inbox this morning announcing eleven of the Churchmouse Classic knitting patterns are now available for purchase online, as an immediate download or by mail. The fingerless gloves are gorgeous in this photo and in person!

So, this is just a shout out post celebrating one of my favorite locations on Bainbridge Island. Happy Friday everyone! xo Kathy

Churchmouse is on the top of my inspiration list. I always find something I want to knit when I walk through the door. Next project will be the Turkish Bed Socks. I’ll look forward to pattern options online as it’s a quick way to get started following the download. I have made the fingerless gloves pictured they are fast, fun and look great! Happy Knitting, Happy Sewing!!

Have made the turkish socks. I used two different sock yarns (heel and toe from one yarn and rest from another) that I had left over from other projects. They are so fun to make and love how they feel on my feet. Would like to make the hat. Can’t wait!

Carrie: Glad to hear that on the gloves. I purchased the pattern and a skein of yarn last time I was in. I’m soooooo close to finishing my current project. Can’t wait to start this one!

My daughter and all her friends love the glove pattern too! I’ve made 3 pairs so far and have a request for one more. They are super fast and pretty easy! Happy knitting!

I went there for the first time this past Sunday. It was a wonderful shop! I guess I should have picked up some tea, but I just bought a pattern book. I’m sure I will be back on my next trip through Bainbridge–maybe I’ll try some tea.

The linen stitch scarf is also wonderful. I have made 2 of them. I love this stitch! Its so beautiful. The finished product looks as if it was woven on a loom. Its a great way to use up extra yarn.

Thanks so much for sharing this. Churchmouse was my inspiration for getting back into knitting as an adult, and it’s now become my passion. I live in Kentucky, but strayed into the beautiful shop while visiting Bainbridge (which I also fell in love with). I’m thrilled to be able to “stop in” now and then from so far away. Thanks, too, for your lovely, inspiring blog, which I confess I’ve been lurking on for quite a while now. Cheers!

I am in the process of making those marvelous Turkish bed socks and love the organization and clarity of the directions/instructions. HOWEVER, I must admit that the “mattress stitch” in Step 5 has left me in the dark as it wasn’t in the glossary. I could not find it in any books on knitting or sewing. Thus I am in need of help ASAP so that I can begin to successfully amass a large cache of socks for Christmas gifts. Thanks for rescuing me. bjnicholls

Barbara, I would definitely help you if I could! I’m not that proficient at knitting. Churchmouse customer service is amazing, I would definitely call them and I’m certain they’d help you out.

I found a churchmouse pattern in a “not so pleasant” LYS in St. Helena. The pattern was the high point. What tea is it you are addicted to. Your goodies make me want to sew–but mainly I knit and drink tea!

Unquestionably consider that that you said. Your favourite justification appeared to be on the internet the easiest thing to have in mind of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed even as people think about concerns that they just don’t recognize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and also defined out the entire thing with no need side-effects , people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thank you click
