Hi Kathy -
Another small world thing....I don't know the Livesays but I recently started following their blogs and tweets. I'm finding that I'm so moved by all that is happening in Haiti. Thank you for all that you are doing to raise awareness of needs and ways to help. xoxo

It really is a small world. Last October, Tara Livesay ran the Twin Cities Marathon to raise money for Medika Mamba. She finished the marathon and raised over $60,000! I wasn't sure if it was the same Medika Mamba your mother mentioned so I read some older Livesay blog posts. On September 9, 2009, Tara wrote "The Mamba gifts are continuing to come in by mail. We're excited that you all will likely make World Wide Village the largest Medika Mamba account at Meds and Foods for Kids." Now how incredible is that? It's the same organization your mother mentioned! Wow!

Thank you Kathy for the touching post and thanks for lovin' on all of us.

Thanks for sharing this. The people of Haiti are in my prayers. Rebecca Sower has an Etsy shop set up to which artists can contribute their work to be sold to help Haitians recover from this tragedy. It's called Haiti By Hand. (There's also a blog.) She returned from Haiti just a few days prior to the earthquake with Haitian art to sell on the site. The Haitian items are now gone, but there is work there from others.

I live in Pensacola, FL. I put together a BIG box of clothing, baby items and small quilts to donate, but I have not been able to find any organization that will take them. I can't donate money at this point. I would love to know that I gave something needed to help the earthquake victims.

Does anyone know how I could get these very useful items to Haiti?

Wow. This is a great post, thanks so much for introducing me to some great organizations who could also use some funds. I recommend, if you're not squeamish, clicking to the photo and blog links to see the photos of some of the photos of the medical work they are doing. Amazing what the Haitians endure. It makes me wish I could sew bandages.
