I would be tempted to hand sew over those seam allowances with a blanket stitch in a contrasting thread. Time consuming, but it could look dramatic.

I love this jacket and just ordered the book from you. Now do you have any idea where to get boiled wool fabric? I went looking and it seems I am not the only one having a hard time finding it.
