Quilt Market Fall 2009 – Melly & Me + Lecien

A sneak photo of Rosalie Quinlan showing off Grandmother’s Flower Garden in the Lecien booth. Jen McLean (Tula Pink) on the far right. Rosie has lots of inspired creations using the new fabrics on her blog.

Rosie gave me a personal tour of the new collection. I have to mention that she radiated a kindness and beauty that was so truly genuine I’m still feeling the good vibes. She’s doing exactly what she was sent here to do and it’s spectacular.

A snippet pic of Melly Hurlston working the Melly & me booth. The samples in the booth were fabulous. Non-stop goodness.

Samples from Melly’s book Kaleidoscope.

Amazing detail!

I created a Quilt Market Fall 2009 set on Flickr to round up all the photos. Click over to see more detail. I tried to take a lot of up close photos of projects in the booths for inspiration. All pictures have now been added. They’re all wacky in terms of the order and I have absolutely no idea how to fix that!

I love all the photos of your trip…it’s almost like I was there! I am so in love with all of the rich, saturated colors that are out right now. I follow Anna Maria Horner’s blog and have seen snippets of her new line, but it’s nice to see it large and made into projects. Wondering – is laminated cotton a new trend, or has it been around for a while and I haven’t noticed it? Is it similar to oilcloth? Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

I love the colors. I’m currently shopping for some nursery fabric – our first baby is due in March – and have loved a lot of what I’ve seen in these posts from the Quilt Market. I’m looking for something gender neutral (we aren’t finding out the sex) but cute, but not overly baby. Thanks for giving me some more to think about!

I have made the fun Melly and Me monkeys….6 of them last year!
So very cute and even made a princess skirt for one of them for dear grandgirl who at the time would only wear skirts. Have since
made additional pants for the monkey of grandson to match boxers
he sewed for himself. Love their patterns…too cute. Anxious to see the new book and fabric line too.

Rosalie & Melly are so incredibly talented. You know someone is really good when they make it look so easy! I love the fact that they are so diversified in their creating…..it just never stops….embroidery, quilting, animals, purses, fabric and books…all of which are created with their own unique style. I just love it!
