Della Q is a unique business that specializes in beautiful silk taffeta. Both yardage and finished goods.
Della Quimby is the owner and a fabulous new friend. We met through two cooperative magazine ads that recently appeared in American Patchwork & Quilting as well as Stitch (you can see the ad text at www.StitchChatter.com). She lives in Seattle and we share an area code so go figure that we flew to Pittsburgh to meet in person for the first time!
Many of the quilts in Della’s booth are kits available on her website. Most were designed by Debbie Maddy of Calico Carriage Quilt Designs who I had the pleasure of sharing a fantastic dinner with on Saturday night.
I’m really digging the trend of new fibers marching into the quilting and sewing world. Fun!

More inspiration from the Valori Wells’ booth. I love the simplicity of these Del Hi quilts. Before I looked closely at the photos I thought they were the free pattern but these are actually much more straightforward. Pieced strips alternating with a solid. Too cool and could work for so many fabrics. Did anyone measure those strip widths?
The t-shirts are silk-screened with her designs. Gorgeous. She talks about the details in a blog post and states they’ll be available soon from her website.

I snapped these images from the Heather Ross corner of the Seven Islands booth (the distributor). The entire collection will be re-appearing in the shop next week. The Mary Janes are my fav!

The Paula Prass booth for Michael Miller. I am so excited about this collection. Whenever I have the opportunity to add to my vintage cotton collection I always go for the grey and black so I naturally totally freaked when I saw the color palette for Summer Soiree. The zebra stripes, the houndstooth, zigs zags, and lace, Wow. My favorites in the booth were the ottoman and the little girl’s dress, what a showcase for all the designs. I was lucky to meet Paula and her daughter, icing on the cake.

Bari J. Ackerman standing in front of her Full Bloom sample quilt in the Windham booth. I’m a long time fan of Bari’s blog and her custom handbags. I had it on my list to get a picture of that quilt and guess who was there? Bari herself. What a beautiful person she is. Amazing talent and enthusiasm. Meeting her was a true delight.
A quick note on the number of comments being left: I honestly had no idea this would happen. I just wanted to give a lot of prizes so the chances of winning would be higher. It seems a bit crazy and I don’t know what I think of that. Hopefully everyone is having fun. I truly wish I could meet and share a gift with everyone that reads my blog. I thank you from my heart for all the very nice words, I appreciate every one.
Leave a comment on any post this week to be eligible for the prize drawing Monday morning, May 25th. You get one entry for each comment left. One prize per person so we can spread the goodness.

Honestly? I can’t decide which of those fabric lines I like the best. I’ve pretty much given up and decided that part of my hobby is the acquisition of said fabrics. Makes the lusting and purchase more official somehow.

I’ve really enjoyed your daily market recap, your pictures have been fabulous. I think most of us take for granted the great pictures that you post on your blog and shop, then you run across a not so great photo from the same event and have a renewed appreciation for your photos. I love Valori Well’s quilts!
