Light Reading

I was organizing today and stacked all my library books in one place. Couldn’t resist taking a picture of this line up. What’s on your nightstand?

Nice! I’m reading “The Heretics Daughter”, by Kathleen Kent right now. It has kept me in a state of controlled panic, which is probably intentional. I also have “The accidental masterpiece” by Michael Kimmelman, but I haven’t started it yet. Not to mention a stack of journal articles. Now there is some “light” reading. :) I don’t have any sewing books out right now.

Nothing as interesting as your stack on my night stand at the moment. I’m sifting through quilt books and magazines looking for the perfect project for the Christmas in July Swap I’m co-hosting.

I see you are reading “Switching to the Mac.” I never thought I’d like a Mac, but now love it more than my PC! You go girl!

    Biology: Concepts and Connections

I’m taking Biology 105 at Peninsula College this quarter. Oh boy, have I forgotten how to study and retain what I’ve just read.

Ah – the luck of having a library nearby. Before we moved to Panama, I went to the library on a regular basis and gave books a “trial” before I decided if I needed to have them in my own library or not. I also checked out books just for the joy of reading them. Now I believe I use other people’s trial runs as my own and count on the many bloggers out there to give me good book reviews prior to purchasing them.

I just adore your background of heather ross ;-) I have
“you can heal your life” by Louise Hay
    “weekend sewing” heather ross
“seams to me” anna marie horner
    sketch book and pencials
even if I dont have enough time to sew I always brainstorm

Blah! Once again, this just proves that my local library doesn’t believe the sewing genre should be updated with anything in the last decade – there’s one Kaffe book from 2003. The most recent book I bought was Material Obsession – great projects/eye candy in there!

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath (last month’s book club book) and In Defense of Food (this month’s book club book). I feel like I barely have time to read anymore, so I’m a bit behind.

Most of my library books are of the children’s variety and the stack is quite high. I do have last-minute patchwork + quilted gifts out.

Roan and I are reading The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane together. I myself am a magazine addict.

    Always have had Macs.

I just had the 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women out too! Read some, switched between books. I am always fascinated with what people are reading at the moment. Posting about it on my blog now… Thanks for sharing. I need to pick up a few of those books from your list!

Switching to the Mac isn’t on my reading list, but it is on my list of books that I’ve publicized! I work for O’Reilly Media — the publishing company for The Missing Manuals series. Great to see our books out there in the real world :)
