The Liberty Shirt is the latest release from The Sewing Workshop. I receive a complimentary copy of each new pattern since I’m a retailer carrying their accessory patterns. I don’t have plans to carry the clothing line but I love seeing what’s new!
Linda Lee and The Sewing Workshop are known for distinctive, loose-fitting designs featuring innovative construction techniques. The result is great fashion that fits a wide variety of body shapes with minimum fuss.
The Liberty Shirt can be either a shirt or jacket. It has diagonal side seams angled to the front, a soft stand-up collar, and set in sleeves with vent openings. It also has asymmetric front and back deep hems with mitered corners, front topstitching detail and a five-button closure.
To be eligible for this drawing leave a comment sharing what commercial sewing pattern is on your Make List for 2009. Winners for each drawing this week will be chosen on Monday, Jaunary 26.

This would be quite lovely to win! I plan on making the Amy Butler tunic.:)
i have pattern, fabric, zipper and thread to make Amy Butler Cabo Halter. Now just need the time.
That’s an interesting pattern. It’s great seeing all of this new stuff. I’m looking to find fabric for a New Look (I think 6610) jacket with a Mandarin collar, and just trying out more patterns to improve my technique!
Seems like Amy Butler patterns are popular – I am going to make the Amy Butler cami.
I have a real NEED for Amy
Butlers market bagso that’s it for me!

I would love to be in the running for the pattern. I love Oliver+S patterns and plan to make more of those up this year.
My commercial pattern would be this one.
Oh so many patterns – commercial and in my minds eye you know. Well I actually bought some great Cherrywood hand dyed fabrics and a jacket pattern by MorningGlory Designs. The photos on Cherrywood’s website do not do the jacket justice by the way. The fabric looks like suede so the jacket is a gradated suede look…so interesting! Here is their photo….

My plans include an outer wear jacket, maybe McCalls 4975, view C, the one with the hood. It’s about 3 years old, I think. I never said I was on the cutting edge of fashion!
Thanks for doing the giveaway. Very generous of you, and fun!
i want to try an amy butler bag pattern, either Frenchy (which i already have the pattern for) or Birdie Sling (which I prefer the look of)
For commercial patterns I am jumping into Simplicity 2766 and three of Simplicity Retro patterns. I am new to sewing and thought they would be an interesting pattern to start with. Plus my sister is there to hold my hand.
Your mail bag!
Simplicity 4589 is on my todo list! Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!!
I have your mailbag in process and 4 notetakers on deck! I’dlove to add this shirt to the list.
I would love to make Amy Butlers birdie sling as well as Simplicity baby patterns for my grandson expected in May. I want to make a quilt and a shopping cart cover.
I plan on trying Loes Hinse Zipper Jacket. I already have that pattern … course I already have a lot of patterns … my obsession!
I bought some Simplicity patterns last year and I want to try them so I can improve (learn!) to sew clothes. I have a skirt on my to do list and I even want to give it as a gift for her birthday!
Such an interesting pattern design. I am hoping to try making either the Tulip skirt or Asymmetrical Folds skirt found in the winter issue of Stitch magazine. Thanks so much!
The Amy Butler, Barcelona Skirt.
I don’t have a specific pattern to make but I do hope to get some patterns and do some clothing sewing this year. I haven’t done this in a long time and I am so disenchanted with the ready made clothing out there. Love this shirt pattern!
I’m not sure if this would look good on me or not… but I love this company! They have such fun stuff. I had better put my name in here too! Hope it’s not too late!
Oops I forgot to tell you what commercial sewing pattern is on my to do list… One of the things on my list (and it’s growing as I post this…) is a Vogue pattern; 2942 Donna Karan –jacket. Really cute… I happened upon a discounted knobby fabric years back that was hmmm $1.99 a yard. Great stuff, I can’t recall what it’s called, but I bought around 5-6 yards. And I’m thinking a skirt out of it too would be really cute. But first I need to pair down the things that are sitting on my cutting table! LoL… who knows when all this will get done.
I’d love to make some loose fitting tops for work, especially for the summer months.
I’ve been getting ready to sew an apron from a pattern!! I am a very experienced sewer and I’m using a pattern….and finding it amusing. All of a sudden I’m feeling insecure…..ick.
