Christmas Snow

The snow began falling last Wednesday evening. It just keeps on coming. No question we’ll be having a White Christmas. This type of snow is an extreme rarity (the news reports once every 15 years) so the kids are milking it for all it’s worth. And of course, no Bainbridge Island storm would be complete without a power outage. 9 hours yesterday. The house received a good cleaning for which it was extremely thankful!

The next storm has arrived a bit ahead of schedule, I can see falling snow as I write this post. Snow forts, hot chocolate, knitting, and slow simmering soup are on my schedule for today. Wishing you many joyful and festive moments with your loved ones this week. xo Kathy

Kathy, change the kids faces and we have the same photos! LOL
I dont know how to knit though but have been keeping a hot fire with cinnamon water on top, lots of soups, sweaters and a mitten line hanging behind the woodstove for the everchanging supply of wet ones.
    Have a Great Christmas!

    Merry Christmas Kathy!

Hope you didn’t have to wait in line too long at the store :) I guess we were lucky, we missed the power outage yesterday! I’m so happy it snowed, we’re going to be here for Christmas day, it makes me feel like I’m home in Ontario :)

It must be so cool for everyone to enjoy such a good and beautiful snowfall when it’s such a rare occurrence. The problem is when it interferes with where you need to go and what you need to do. And welcome to MY life lately here in Wisconsin. Still trying to remember to enjoy it all for its beauty…

Isn’t it just amazing. I think you got more up there than we did. It looks like we’re in for another 3-5″ here in the Vancouver/Portland area. Yea! They are calling it the 40 Year Storm down here.

Strange, this weather, isn’t it? But I do love it although it cut the Christmas shopping a little short (which isn’t a bad thing).
A Happy Holiday to you and your family!

I learned a lonnng time ago to have food storage… (some people call it a blizzard cupboard!) and extra blankets for these power outage times. Hope that your nice and warm and had a wonderful Christmas time. I remember Christmas on Bainbridge with my grandparents… it was great fun! Quiet and peaceful and a reflective time.
I managed to do all my Christmas sewing from my sewing stash this year! It is slowly being widdled down… that’s alright maybe by Spring/Summer I will have room to buy more again!
