I have yet to complete a quilt and am going to break the one rule you set and suggest a variation of a pattern from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts, the six of one quilt on page 80-81. Instead of using only two different fabrics, it would be quite dramatic to use four of the fabrics from Robots for the quilt front and then the other four for the back. As I keep saying, you have a wonderful knack for combining fabrics and I like how you have combined the Robot fabric collection for this post. Well the only pattern I have in mind is in a book, but I have to get a selection of these anyway! Collecting fabrics for a quilt for my little boy and these are just AWESOME!

hi there – just for fun I looked for a pattern. I liked the ones that had fairly large strips so that you could see the fabrics. here are my suggestions. Paper Roses – allison Quilt Designs, Come play with me – bean counter quilts, Fat Qtr Frolic – Lavisa Key Designs; Little Cruizers on Rt 66 – Quilting Belle; and Fantastaic-O Fat Fun – Threaded Pear Studio. Have fun choosing – there are lots out there.

I think a thimbleblossoms pattern would be a great choice. I just bought wild thing, and I think that’d be fun using the robots.

Here’s one of my favorites for a quick child’s quilt: “Crazy Eights” by Bits ‘n Pieces (www.bitsnpieces.com); and better yet, it calls for 8 Fat Quarters! Love those prints…wonder how they’d go with the old rocket print from Prints Charming in my stash…
