Shop Talk Friday - Holiday Give Away
Dec 12th, 2008 by Kathy

Robots by David Walker for Free Spirit. The faces on the robots make me smile.
I’d like to bundle it up into a quilt kit for sale in the shop. That’s where the contest begins. Leave a comment with a published quilt pattern that you think would work great with this fabric. You can link to the designers website or leave the pattern name and publisher. Don’t include patterns from a book, make it a stand alone, I’ll need to be able to order the patterns for bundling in the kit. Extra points for patterns that use all the fabrics in the quilt! The winner will receive an 8 piece Robots fat quarter pack.
I’ll leave the contest open until next Friday, December 19.
I’ve also been sitting on a lot of sample patterns from distributors and quilt designers. I’ll draw 5 random names from the entries for these prizes:

These beauties from Midwest Modern 2 are making me swoon. Stand alone or combined with August Fields and Midwest Modern 1, the possibilities are endless. Available in a fabric packs for easy stash building.

New Melly & Me patterns.
Have a fabulous, festive weekend!
ps Holiday Fabrics are 35% off, the elves have been turning around shop orders within 24 hours!
12/14/08: Many comments are going to ‘moderation’ because of the links. I’m approving as quickly as I can, if you don’t see your comment come up that’s most likely the reason. I’ve been called to jury duty tomorrow so I won’t be home until late in the day to fish them out, I appreciate your patience!

I love Thimble Bloosoms Patterns. I think her Mama’s Boy pattern would look really cute with this fabric.
http://www.thimbleblossoms.com/Thimble_Blossoms/Thimble_Blossoms_Home/Entries/2007/6/13_Mama%E2%80%99s_Boy.html
I think I’d add one more fabric and make this sudoku quilt: http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item–i-TBD-7729
I’m thinking simple with this one since it would probably be destined as a kid’s quilt — and you want big-ish pieces to show off the robots. I’d just make a disappearing nine-patch, and I’d use pretty big squares to begin with, like 6 inches. By the way, your elves rock!!
Fun challenge! I found a couple of new to me patterns too! I usually just design my own
I like this one - hope you do too!
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=584112515745841&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=26412&Parent_Ids=
Fun contest! My first thought was the “Slide Show” pattern by Atkinson Designs … I believe you need a pattern with big enough blocks to show off the designs, and this one has a kind of circuitry thing going on that I think fits with the robot theme.
http://www.atkinsondesigns.com/patterns/patternDetail.asp?productID=138
I’ll probably be back with more ideas!
I don’t know what pattern but I have to make a quilt from that fabric for Tristan.
“All About Me” would work, too:
http://www.atkinsondesigns.com/patterns/patternDetail.asp?productID=136
Plus, with both of these designs, I like that they are gender neutral … especially considering I imagine a lot of robot quilts will be made for little (or big!) boys.

It’s a GREAT new pattern from a local designer here in Raleigh. It’s easy and well-written, but with a great final effect. I think the big blocks would be perfect to show off the robots!
Sorry, I’ll leave you alone now. : )

It’s a GREAT new pattern from a local designer here in Raleigh. It’s very easy but the final result is spectacular. I think those big blocks would be perfect for the robots.
OK, I’ll leave you alone now! : )
LOVE these fabrics. Thank you for the giveaway!
A few American Jane patterns would work — “Admit One” perhaps?
Those fabrics are so gorgeous!!! So great to see some nice boy designs. I think this quit http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_40&products_id=519 would be perfect with a rocket ship or robot instead of the guitar.

I haven’t used very many commercial quilt patterns, but I love “Yellow Brick Road” by Atkinson Design. It looks complicated, but all the squares are cut by piecing different fabric strips. Not too tough for a newbie quilter like me, at least!
BTW, I LOVE the little Koalas! Super cute!
Aieee, sorry, the link: http://www.americanjane.com/patterns.php
City Park pattern from your website http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_40&products_id=437
And use the Robots fabrics in place of the black & white squares…I like the idea of the Kona solids to accent/frame the Robots. This fabric line just screams to be made into a square/rectangle quilt to me!
What about Amitie’s hectic eclectic
http://www.amitie.com.au/#
Nice big patches to show off the fabric.
Andi
Love these fabrics, and what fantastic sample patterns! How fun! Found a few patterns that were new to me, that I think might work with this line:
Checks and Balances from KarenWorks
Cobblestones by Perkins Dry Goods
Scrappy Squares, Scrappy Spinners, Scrappy Frames, Scrappy Illusions or a few others by Two Kwik Quilters (probably my favorite).
Have fun looking, let me know if you need any links from me.
I think this quilt would be perfect! It brings in the whole space idea with the circles! And the best part is…it’s free!
http://www.funquilts.com/gallery/patterns/eclipse.pdf
Fun fabrics - so nice to find something good for boys! How about one of these quilt patterns:
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=356912121722453569&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=6204&Parent_Ids=

I am obsessed with the simplicity of Amy Butler’s Thea’s Puzzle quilt, and these are not large pattern repeats, so the pattern would not get lost with the thinner strips. Also, it corresponds perfectly to the amount of fat quarters needed in the quilt. I like the ‘controlled chaos’ of these types of quilts. It would make a sweet little baby or lap quilt.
http://www.amybutlerdesign.com/pdfs/Theas_Puzzle_Quilt.pdf
Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the fabrics! The minute I saw them I thought about the Bento Box pattern by Tracey Brookshier. I’ve been dreaming about it since I saw the one you made and the right fabrics are here!
Wish me good luck and have a nice Christmas!
Ana
This fabric would work great for Hot Cakes - Mary’s Cottage Quilts @ http://www.maryscottagequilts.com.
I like this one, the ripples pattern.
It would be cute.
http://www.reprodepot.com/ptrpqt.html
What could be more perfect than Jenny Foltz’s “Robot Mission” Quilt?
http://www.jennyfoltz.com/patterns16.htm
Love those prints!
OOOooooh, this is fun! I have loved this fabric from when when I first saw the announcement of it’s release!
In fact, I know a couple of new baby boys in my circle of friends that would probably love some rocket ship love! Okay, with that being said, this is the link to the pattern that I think is cute!
http://www.reprodepotfabrics.com/sdlkqtpt.html
Sassy and sophisticated or cute and comfy from Lavender and Lime!
It’s the closest quilt shop to my homestead, and they started releasing patterns last year…
http://lavenderlimeinspires.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi?cart_id=3735028.32275.s0&lastmenu=&product=swe_sim
How about Thimbleblossoms Drama Queen?
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14625802
Oh, I like this give away. And not just because those fabrics desperately belong in my son’s room. I almost need to take a pic to prove it - maybe tomorrow win the sun is out. Anyway, we have a cartoony space theme going on in there with blues, reds, oranges, and greens. Absolutely perfect for this contest.
I saw it posted already, but I must re-emphasize how fantastic the Let’s Rock quilt pattern in your store would work. Perhaps you could add it to the giveaway? I know, I know that’s asking alot.
http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_76_81&products_id=519
I’d tweak it a bit so it said, Let’s Rocket. I change the circles to asteroids and planets - a few with rings like Saturn. Maybe add a few spaceships (to match his decor) . Oh how sweet it would be, I would even add a few glow in the dark stars to the mix as well.
I’m giddy just thinking about it,
Stacy
I love that robot fabric - it’s just too cute.
How about this one:
http://www.quiltville.com/ispya4patch2.shtml
OooOOooh Gooooodness! I love that robot fabric. I have a really hard time picking fabric for my two guys. Not only is this fabric the colors of their room, but they also LOVE robots and anything space-like. I would definitely make a quilt (first time) for them with this fabric! I LOVE IT!!!(can you tell?)
I have had my eye on the robot fabric for some time now! How fun to see it all together like that.
I really think Hip To Be Square by Busy Bee Designs would be great with the Robots fabric. http://www.mkquiltdesigns.com/hiptobesquare.html
Since you need 12 fabrics total I would add 4 solids (white, red, orange, teal/blue) to the prints shown and there you have it!
A swap partner sent me this quilt pattern in a swap awhile back and I just love it and think it would be perfect!
I could see this Candy Bar Road pattern that Crazy mom Quilts talked about on her site… I’d love to try the pattern myself!
http://www.suzguzdesigns.com/catalog/i18.html
It just so happens I have been looking for the perfect fabric set for my nephew due in the Spring. This would be perfect! And I already have my pattern, http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18592891 These would work together perfectly
Those fabrics are so cute that any pattern would look good. All I know is that I will have to get them to make a quilt for my son.
I LOVE those robots! I think a snowball pattern would be awesome!
http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltblocklotto/ss/ispy_snowballs.htm
Happy Holidays!
Great fabric! I saw this quilt in Flickr that I think will be perfect!
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mishi2x/542952686/ The pattern is “Fons & Porter’s Crossroads”. Mery Christmas!
Laurraine - Canada
Oh my goodness, I am loving the robot fabric line. So darling.
Enter me for the random drawing please. My mom is the quilter int he family and I would love to win and give it to her for Christmas!
What about the pattern called Candy Bar Road. It was designed to use one cake layer and one jelly roll, but if you cut those sizes from this adorable robot fabric, I think that quilt pattern would look cute. Here is the link:
http://www.suzguzdesigns.com/catalog/i18.html
First and foremost what adorable fabric..My son would love a wuilt made from these fabrics :0)
I think the perfect quilt pattern to use for these fabrics is the 5 & Dime by All Washed Up..it is a Fat quarter quilt and here is the link:
http://laniejane.com/shop/product.php?productid=267&cat=4&page=1
Pick me! Pick me!!
I don’t think this one has been mentioned but they would all be great!
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=453412122232584534&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=22757&Parent_Ids=
I have the center of this one made out of Midwest Modern and it’s a fun pattern for different prints, but might take TOO many prints: http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=584112515745841&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=25557&Parent_Ids=
And this one would be pretty basic and show off all the different fabrics, you could use 6 of the prints for the center, and the other two for the borders:
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=584112515745841&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=26352&Parent_Ids=
I LOVE those fabrics! this quilt would be just what I would make with them for my son’s first quilt
http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_40&products_id=439
How about:
Patriots Star http://www.patchworkmoon.com/images/product/PWM9910.jpg
http://www.patchworkmoon.com/patterns.html
OR:
To The Moon
http://www.villagequiltshoppe.com/detail.cfm?pid=5978&CFID=789150&CFTOKEN=51512854
I love this fabric! I think I need it for my little boy! I also love the THimbleblossom patterns and since Mama’s Boy was already suggested, I will add Jelly Filled. It’d be cute to have the geometrics of it with robots! http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=17596615
Can’t stand how cute those are! I would probably make my boys a quilt and never let them touch it. I think a bricks and cobblestones quilt would be so cute. http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltpatternsprojects/ss/cobblestones.htm
Well, funny enough, I searched all over, found the perfect patterns, and John (above) and I were thinking along the same lines!
I liked these three!
All About Me
http://www.atkinsondesigns.com/patterns/patternDetail.asp?productID=136
Slide Show
http://www.atkinsondesigns.com/patterns/patternDetail.asp?productID=138
and last but not least:
Nutmeg Stars
http://figtreequilts.com/details.php?prodId=63&category=5
I just love the robot fabric, so cute!
It has been fun to look at all these links. I will second Colleens pick from fat quarter shop. I love the Crazy Eights. It would be perfect since it would use a fat quarter from all eight fabrics.
Add some fun quilting and it would be perfect.
Love these fabrics. I think i might make one of these up with this pattern. I know a little boy who is due to arive soon, he will need a blankie.
I am seconding (or thirding) the CANDY BAR ROAD… Crazy mom quilts did a version that is STUNNING. Her pics better show the pattern than does the image for the pattern on Suz’ website…
http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/12/candy-bar-road.html
Fat Quarter Folly would be a great pattern for these fabrics:
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=982412131619824&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=26597&Parent_Ids=
My suggestion is the Happy Hour Pattern on the cover of this book~
http://www.madaboutpatchwork.com/shoponline/patterns/details.asp?id=154 as it would show off the fabric’s larger pattern area. Here’s another image done in brighter colors and more in line with the fabric you’ve chosen~ http://www.flickr.com/photos/67604797@N00/2400008212/in/set-72157594562280610/
My second choice would be Candy Bar Road from this pattern~ http://www.suzguzdesigns.com/catalog/i18.html
Love the fabric, what about “yellow brick road”. It leaves large squares of fabric, so you can see pattern, it’s very easy, just straight lines, uses fat quarters, it looks great. Another idea is distressed nine patch, also easy.
I love Karen’s patterns… for a quilt”
http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=809121384827809&Store_id=466&page_id=23&Item_ID=1338
but I’d actually love a Fun on the Run Jacket made of these = }
http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=449611151336544496&Store_id=466&page_id=23&Item_ID=1009
Scratch my previous suggestion! (btw Kathy I’m not after the fabric, I just like giving you suggestions!) Something from Funquilts — Boardwalk or Party of Four perhaps? They have some other great ones for the robot fabric but they have curved/bias cut pieces — if your typical kit buyer isn’t afraid of them.
anyway: http://www.funquilts.com/gallery/patterns/patterns.html
Great fabrics! A patterns with the fabrics in it can be found here: http://www.freespiritfabric.com/core-pages/gallery.php?gal_id=170 Maybe someone already mentioned it.
Your new patterns look great too! I always love the Melly & Me patterns!
Hi,
Love the Koalas. A stuffed one was my sister’s fav toy (over 30 years ago). I like Living Large by Anka’s Treasures for the BIG prints.
How about this beautiful robot quilt. Theme within a theme : http://www.watleuk.nl/p530-Quilt-Rolling-Robot.html
I love your new patterns too!
I wish I had a suggestion but I still haven’t gotten up enough courage to attempt a quilt yet. My son loves the robots!
I think this one would be perfect and its a free pattern! In fact I think they might have even used this very fabric..lol!
link to the pdf. download:
http://www.freespiritfabric.com/graphic-elements/gallerys/t170_1.pdf
link to the preview page. Scroll to the bottom. Its called Robots/
http://www.freespiritfabric.com/core-pages/patterns.php
I’m sure this goes by other names by other pattern designers, but I think the “5 in Dime” pattern would look great, with the robot fabric as the long run of fabric…and maybe a solid or two added in…orange, baby blue… http://www.pineneedlequiltshop.com/prodinfo.asp?number=P-QCQ&variation=&aitem=11&mitem=82
I would make a quilt with the Turning Twenty pattern, what fun fabrics!
I think these patterns would look nice using the Bento Box pattern with coordinating solids.
I’m new to sewing and had written you for advice, you suggested “Just Can’t Cut It” by All Washed Up - here is the link: http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=22
I think the Robot fabrics would look fabulous using this pattern, really showcase the robots and spaceships in the bigger areas and the stripes in the smaller blocks. What fun!
I think big modern stripes would work well: http://www.freespiritfabric.com/graphic-elements/gallerys/t131_1.pdf. You could run some of the striped fabric vertically and some horizontally.
I really like this quilt pattern (Yesterday by Abbey Lane Quilts) for the fabric, I think it would look great especially with the stripes!!
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?sid=99321213162289932&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=26734&Parent_Ids=
Good Luck!

athenagwis at hotmail . com
I like the Slice Twice isn’t that Nice quilt from the Threaded Pear.
http://www.threadedpear.com/store/products/details/?product=305
But I do have to say that the Star Student’s quilt mentioned in an earlier post is really cute, too.
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=453412122232584534&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=22757&Parent_Ids=
Dear Kathy- I just wanted to thank you so much for being a terrific inspiration this year. I have just finished your mini note taker for my mother in law’s Christmas gift. She is a travel writer and loves to have little note books to scribble into. It was the hardest (technically) thing I’ve ever sewn–due to my own limitations–and the sense of accomplishment is so rewarding! Thank you again and wishing you and your beautiful family a Merry Christmas!!!
ohhhhhhhh I really like the pattern “take 5″ by the teachers pet, I have done a halloween quilt with this pattern and a friend used this pattern to make throws for my kids, really shows off the fabrics!
I want this I want this I want this! Oh boy! I love this fabric! I am having a baby boy (due date New Years Day) and good boy fabric is so hard to come by! Now the hard part is suggesting a quilt pattern since I am not a quilter! My big effort to help out with this is the one quilt I really like and is on my list to try if I ever quilt…
http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/10/crazy_about_qui.html
I may have to talk hubby into letting me buy yet some more fabric if I don’t win this…Oh I really really really want this!
How about the Denyse Schmidt “Single Girl” pattern? http://www.dsquilts.com/fabric_patterns.html
Love the robot fabric! How cute is that. I thought the Crazy Eights pattern mentioned above was a good one. I also liked Josie’s Quilt by Pixiegirlt Quilts. http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=288812132244492888&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=26413&Parent_Ids=
But my favorite pattern for this is the Charming Baby Log Cabin by Threaded Pear. http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=288812132244492888&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=26692&Parent_Ids=
Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I think my other one dissappeared. I like Crazy Eights already mentioned. I also like Josie’s Quilt by Pixiegirl Quilts. http://pixiegirlquilts.com/patterns.html
And I really like Charming Baby Log Cabin by Threaded Pear Studio. http://www.quiltersbuzz.com/2008/10/tooting_my_own_horn_sneak_peek.html Look at the boy version with the pointed border rather than the scalloped border, although either would work.
Great fabrics! pick me.. pick me.
I’d love to see those robots in Jelly Filled from Thimble Blossoms (#124). Too, too, too cute. Plus, there’s just never enough cute “boy” fabric to go around. Love this combination.
Julia
I love the Wild Thing Thimble Blossoms pattern. It would be a sweet way to showcase such great fabrics!
Oh, I LOVE these fabrics! I have a baby boy and would love to make him a quilt with these. I think I would use this pattern because it would show off the fabrics well: http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=818812141052178188&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=6204&Parent_Ids=
Hi Kathy!
I have been making the Eco Market Totes by Favorite Things. You can see some of my efforts at http://artquiltmaker.blogspot.com/search?q=tote+bag. I think that you could use all of the fabrics for this tote:
1 for the inside
1 for the outside
1 for the large outside pocket
1 for the small outside pocket is which is inside the large outside pocket
2 for straps
1 for a large inside pocket (this is a modification that I have made, which you can see here: http://artquiltmaker.blogspot.com/2008/09/latest-fashion-in-tote-bags.html (last photo)
1 for small pocket on the inside. This is also an addition I made to the pattern, because I like a lot of pockets.
Pick me!!!
Not to give you more work, but I would tweak your Carasoul quilt pattern and offer it as a PDF like you did with the Patchwork Promenade kit.
http://www.pinkchalkfabrics.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=8
I think it would be perfect! I would take section A1 of your quilt and divide it into squares. You could also maybe delete B1,C1, D2 and E2, (and add that amount into your outer strips) but it could work in there as is if you wanted.
If you are truly wanting a boughten pattern, then I think the admit one would work really well without the “admit one” applique and replacing the star with a robot or rocket in the upper right hand corner.
http://www.quilterswarehouse.com/itemdesc.asp?ic=AJP198#
Sorry for the double entry, but I found another
This would be cute too:
http://www.purlbee.com/zig-zag-quilt/2007/12/28/zig-zag-quilt.html
here’s another example showing that same idea:
http://aquiltisnice.blogspot.com/2008/09/zig-zag-quilt-kit-tutorial.html
Sorry for a double entry, but here’s another one that I think would showcase that fabric:
http://www.purlbee.com/zig-zag-quilt/2007/12/28/zig-zag-quilt.html
a couple examples of different versions of it:
http://aquiltisnice.blogspot.com/2008/09/zig-zag-quilt-kit-tutorial.html
http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/2008/10/saltines-and-lemonade.html
Bento Box by Tracy Brookshier would look great in these!
Kristi
Oh, I haven’t attempted a quilt! I have been intimidated. I love admiring everyone else’s beautiful quilts though!
I love Denyse Schmidt! I found this Single Girl Quilt at purlsoho! Really neat! http://www.purlsoho.com/purl/products/patternlist/subject,9,,type,patchwork
However, I think my official entry is the Blossom Quilt from Fig Tree:
http://figtreequilts.com/details.php?prodId=108&category=5
I think it would make a really neat quilt with those Robots!
I think that this great pattern by Elizabeth at Oh, Fransson! would really showcase these SUPER CUTE fabrics!
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18514520
wow! that fabric is so awesome…. and so many good suggestions…
maybe this pattern - well let’s see how to describe which one….
http://www.flippytaleprize.blogspot.com/ you have to scroll quite a way down it has a big copyright watermark over the quilt… it is in the post dated 4/29/2007 … i have been looking for a group of fabrics that would be perfect for my 5 year old….these are it! (i hope you pick my quilt pattern suggestion)
Hello,
The fabric is adorable and I think that Maddox pattern by Valori Wells of the stitchinpost.com would be really great!
Laura
The one I automatically thought of was Candy Bar Road by Sue Guzman, http://www.suzguzdesigns.com/catalog/i18.html but is has already been mentioned. I also think that the Happy Hour Quilt by Atkinson Design would be great, but then it is a book….though it is just the one pattern in the book http://www.atkinsondesigns.com/books/bookDetail.asp?productID=605 I guess count me in for the random drawing! LOL
These prints are so cute and would perfectly match the robot-themed bedroom I am planning for my son in our soon-to-b-finished fixer-upper. I have never made a quilt before, but these are inspiring.
The quilts I love are at Fat Quarter shop.
I love the Tiny Tots, with the fussy cuts:
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=288812132244492888&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=21511&Parent_Ids=
And the Pretty Papers rocks (with the stripes going vertical for the narrow strips):
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=288812132244492888&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=23163&Parent_Ids=
OR Cherry Delight, cause it looks really easy, and that’s how I roll!
http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?Shopper_id=288812132244492888&Store_id=499&page_id=23&Item_ID=25439&Parent_Ids=
And of course any remaining fabric would go on the curtains as a stripe across the bottom.
Thanks!
i think that this pattern

but with a rocket ship instead of a flower would really showcase the fabric.
also maybe amy butler’s belle or ginger bliss…or even thimble blossom’s sweet cheeks but with her optional stars instead of flowers there are so many wonderful patterns i dont know how you will pick one!
All of the quilt ideas are great. When I saw the fabric, the first thing I thought of was Spaceboy & Robot by wee wonderfuls. It is not a quilt, b ut a fun stuffed toy. Here is a link

has anyone suggested urban comfort (or baby) by valorie wells?
(sorry about so many separate posts i would combine them if i could - with 2 little ones, i only have a second here or there and if i dont post quick i never know if it will happen)
http://pixiegirlquilts.com/patterns.html The “serendipity” pattern - I think it looks so fun and would really showcase those cute robots!
I think Big Block Beauty from Canyon Creek Quilt Patterns would be great for this fabric. Thanks for the challenge and chance to win fun stuff! http://quiltbus.com/images/big-block-beauty.jpg
Such yummy fabric and I think this fat quarter pattern would be very cute made up with it (Smith Street Designs- Crazy Eights - uses 8 fat quarters) shown here:

So many great quilts already and I only glanced at the first 20 or so… Wow! I think it would look great in one of Anna Maria Horner’s free patterns, like her Bohemian Quilt pattern.
I think that the Terry Atkinson patterns yellow brick road, or lucky stars would work great for these fabrics. Absolutely lovely fabric!!
I love these robot fabrics so much - I just had to comment! I think the Fielding’s Quilt pattern would be perfect, it would use the striped multi for the outer border, the blue stripe for backing, and the other fabrics could be used for the squares because there is enough contrast for the middle part. It should be an easy kit to put together.

Good luck with jury duty, I hope it wasn’t too long!
This is such adorable fabric ~ gotta get me some:) There are many quilt patterns out there that would be fantastic but I think a simple pattern would be best.
Something like Atkinson Cheese and Crackers Quilt Pattern is one I can think of to submit.
Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs. Still my fall back when I want the fabrics to do the talking - instead of the piecing/applique.
Those are adorable. I think I’d do Jelly filled from Thimbleblossoms

oh my, that’s adorable. How come they put out cute fabric faster than I can find time to stitch?! And I love those little koalas, so sweet!
love love love the robot fabric! I’d love to see a quilt size version of the rumblework scarf!
I’d love to see those fabrics done up in August Roses by Allison Designs (http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item–i-AQD-23). The pattern is great because it really lets you showcase your prints. That, and it’s super easy - perfect for a kit! It calls for seven assorted prints (plus seven that read solid), but the eighth could easily be worked into the front of the quilt or even the backing.
I’m loving those fabrics!
I’d use Jelly Filled from Thimble Blossom.
That fabric is really cute. I’m pretty excited about it because my son’s room is all rockets. I think I would like to use this quilt pattern:

Mainly so we could see all the wonderful fabric.
Here’s one of my favorites for a quick child’s quilt: “Crazy Eights” by Bits ‘n Pieces (www.bitsnpieces.com); and better yet, it calls for 8 Fat Quarters! Love those prints…wonder how they’d go with the old rocket print from Prints Charming in my stash…
Oooops! In my previous comment it is http://www.bitsnpieces.net for the Crazy Eights pattern!
I think a thimbleblossoms pattern would be a great choice. I just bought wild thing, and I think that’d be fun using the robots.
I know one thing - I WANT THAT KIT!!!
hi there - just for fun I looked for a pattern. I liked the ones that had fairly large strips so that you could see the fabrics. here are my suggestions. Paper Roses - allison Quilt Designs, Come play with me - bean counter quilts, Fat Qtr Frolic - Lavisa Key Designs; Little Cruizers on Rt 66 - Quilting Belle; and Fantastaic-O Fat Fun - Threaded Pear Studio. Have fun choosing - there are lots out there.
Well the only pattern I have in mind is in a book, but I have to get a selection of these anyway! Collecting fabrics for a quilt for my little boy and these are just AWESOME!
I have yet to complete a quilt and am going to break the one rule you set and suggest a variation of a pattern from Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts, the six of one quilt on page 80-81. Instead of using only two different fabrics, it would be quite dramatic to use four of the fabrics from Robots for the quilt front and then the other four for the back. As I keep saying, you have a wonderful knack for combining fabrics and I like how you have combined the Robot fabric collection for this post. Wishing you magical Christmas and New Year celebrations!
How about Candy Bar Road @ http://www.suzguzdesigns.com/catalog/i18.html. Perfect! Thanks!
I searched and scoured and thought myself very clever to find just the perfect one - Crazy Eights. Of course I see that I’m not the first… alas. But it’s perfect, honest
