Thanksgiving 2008

This year’s picture of the Thanksgiving table. I take one every year. Last year I set up the tri-pod and did an auto-timer (drove everyone crazy, “the turkey’s getting cold Mom”). I usually just try and get the table. A snapshot of the food prepared for a celebration giving thanks for all the blessings in our lives. Hope you enjoyed a peaceful day with loved ones. Now for the downhill roller coaster ride to Christmas!

I think the cat is thinking you are taking a picture of just him/her. -Smiles!

What a beautiful room (and a great photo) looks like it’s straight out of a Country Home magazine. I love how the cat made it into the photo.

You have some really great details in your dining room. I love your paintings, and the chandelier is cool. I even like the shape of your chairs.

Such a patient kid ! (and kitty!!!) ….. my kids would have just dove right into the food, and the cat would be at least sitting on the chair waiting for an opportunity to get his paw up on the plate!
Hope you had a nice holiday!

P.S. I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your blog re: the good info you give about the crafting biz …… thank you very much for sharing your experiences and insights! (from one who is trying to decide what to do when she grows up …… HA !)

My grandma always took a photo of the table at holidays before food was served. It used to drive us crazy, after all those hours we’d waited for her delicious rolls! But the first time I cooked Thanksgiving it came to me clear as a bell: here was the table, all beautiful, the kids scrubbed and ready. It was hours and hours of her work to make something beautiful for us. I still miss her every year and I’m so glad I have those photos!!

    Happy Thanksgiving, Kathy!
I wanted to tell you that my DIVINE half yard of linen arrived in the mail this week – thanks so much! It is soooooo beautiful – I’m going to have to invent a project just for it!

    Thanks again,

Love those prints on the wall. I totally forgot to take a picture this year…remembered after everything was eaten and the table looked gross. Ah well.
