Open and Shut

11/21/08: Congratulations to Cara, comment #97! She chose my favorite one. Now off to the show!

Thoughts I had while taking pictures:

  • I LOVE how the big prints have a fabulous random pattern thing going on when closed.
  • Definitely need to keep one of the black & white ones for myself.
  • I REALLY hope the snaps hold up.
  • Looking for comparative items on Etsy for pricing assistance is a really bad idea. No, I don’t think I’ll be selling them at $5 each.
  • If you ever hear that I broke my neck falling off a ladder you’ll know what I was doing.

Pick your favorite and tell me why. I’ll pick one winner at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning before I leave for the craft show.

The blue ones caught my eye right away, not sure why. I think I’m mostly intrigued by what the fabric looks like close up, but also because I really like the contrast between the outside and the small red polka dots on the inside.

The black and white with that pop of color on the inside!
And, do not sell them for $5!!

I love the peach one with the aqua flowers. But to tell you the truth, they are all gorgeous that you can’t go wrong with any of them.

The black and white ones, because they are so classy and its fun to open them and see something different inside :-) They are all lovely! Have a great time at your craft fair, I can’t wait to read the report and find out how you did!

That is a LOT of sewing Kathy!! These are wonderful…and so far all the fun fabrics. I like I like those with the big red swirling pattern–looks like there’s some white and/or pink within the pattern too. Why—I love all the red, simple as that! $5…oh, my…that’s giving away! I’m an Etsy seller myself…but you can’t trust Etsy all the time–LOL! ;o) You’ve not fallen off a ladder…have you?! Take care! Happy weekend to you & yours. :o )

Love the green and turquoise graphic print. I have a thing for green, and the perfect diaper bag to pair it with. These are too adorable for words!

The patchwork promenade…b/c I am completely loving that fabric right now. Hoping you are going to get more in of it. I went to buy it and it was gone! Good luck this weekend at the sale!

I love the sheep. Maybe it is because I hear my three year old daughter singing Old McDonald all day.

Good luck and have fun at the craft show!! Your work, as per usual is divine. I love the wallet with the yellow bit on the front (maybe Sketchbook Ivory~Drawing Room fabric?), it just seems to pop and looks very abstract to me. You did an amazing job with all of them. Wishing you a fantastic weekend!

These are all dropdead gorgeous. My eye went immediately to the black and white one but when prompted to make a choice – well I had a really tough time. You need to charge more than $5. I just went to a Holiday Bazaar at my son’s school – we live in Idaho and prices are fairly low there compared to the Seattle area – a couple of women who also have etsy shops priced their (relatively) comparable items higher than that. Good luck!

SO cute — I just discovered your blog and shop. I love the little japanes prints near the top left (around 10:00 if it were a clock, lol). Good luck at the craft show!

Darling! I love the red and brown/dark red dots. But the best thing about all of them is the contrast when you open the flap. Very fun. ($5! That is madness.)

The entire group is fabulous! It is hard to say which is my favorite, but I am leaning toward the orange floral one with the aqua and green print inside. And I agree $5 is madness for all that work! Happy Selling!

I love the one with kind of an orange-y yellow and white. Sort of looks like pebbles from here. And there’s some blue in it too. Nice work. I can’t imagine the time you spent on these!

I’ve missed seeing you at Out of the Box, but understand how life can be a little crazy. Hopefully I will be able to sneak away and make it to the show this weekend.

Particularly love the one with the poppies on it but they are all seriously lovely. My youngest daughter is named after this beautiful flower and I always think of her when I see them.

I like the orange and blue one in the bottom right of the bottom photo. They look like a cross between flowers and balloons and that makes me happy.

I like the pale green one to the left of the B&W ones. The scale of the pattern works well.

I love the red one, bottom right (“closed” photo). I’ve always been a purple/green girl, but red has taken my fancy of late. Luscious, warm, sultry reds are particularly appealing today, since we woke up to 2 feet of snow outside. Brrrr! But, really, these little beauties are like potato chips—you can’t eat just one!—hugs!

They are all so beautiful! I love the colors in the one on the top left in the second picture.
