Let’s begin with the Big Kahuna, the winner of Seams to Me: 24 New Reasons to Love Sewing by Anna Maria Horner. I think we should publish a cooperative book entitled 372 Heartfelt Reasons to Love Sewing. Goodness. Every last, beautiful word touched my soul.
#39 lindamade was the winner. Linda wrote “I love to sew because it makes all the stresses of the world go away.” Very well said Linda.
Now, there’s still a chance to win this book. Wiley Publishing, Westminster Fibers and other fabulous sponsors have the mother of all give aways going on through November 14th. I’ve personally taken full advantage of the one entry a day rule.

Next up: the winners of the “tell me how to sell the linen” contest.
I knew something was off. The day after the post ran I only had 9 comments. I thought “gosh, maybe the whole linen, Zakka thing is over and someone forgot to tell me” or “maybe no one reads the fine print anymore.” Fortunately, I received an e-mail from Tanya asking if the comments were Lost in Space. Sure enough, they were.
And still are. Get this. Yahoo installed a new server configuration and all the comments are now marked as coming from the same IP address. The spam filter is now on permanent vacation because it’s really easy to capture all the spam when it’s coming from the same IP address.
Anyone know how to move a Wordpress blog? (I’m actually serious about that. If you have a business doing this please contact me!)
But I digress and you want to know who won!
#8 Karen
#57 Leah of Hyena In Petticoats
#75 Melanie
And a few honorable mentions:
Tanya for sending me an e-mail letting me know my comments were broken. Thank you darlin’!
Sarah for making me laugh with the following comment: “I think the FQ idea is good … then again, I’d say anything just to get my name in the drawing! That Starling print is adoreable!”
I do find the whole contest, give away thing a little obnoxious. Like “jump through this hoop and you too can be a winner” sort of obnoxious. The bottom line is I really like giving stuff away and I can’t think of a better way to do it. Well, I did think of one way and I’ll let you in on that little idea tomorrow.
Based on unanimous opinion, the linen is now available as a fat quarter in addition to selling by the yard. I’m also planning more colors.
Thanks for playing along! xo Kathy

yay, thanks again!
Yahoo!
Nothing better than a wee prize to make one’s day!
Thanks Kathy – I hope you get all your commenting dramas sorted out…..

TYPEPAD is fabulous…
as is the marvellous linen that just arrived from you in my mailbox.
yay!
aaaaaw, shucks … thanks, kathy ~ you’ve made my day!
Congrats to the winners. I love the title of the post. Enjoyed that movie quite alot! ~jen~
Congrats to the winners!
Linen fat quarters. I’ve truly died and gone to Heaven. Now to get past Christmas so money will be available for things just to have just in case. LOL
Congratulations Linda! I’m so happy to hear you won that awesome book. And congrats to the other winners too. Great giveaway.
Kathy, moving your blog shouldn’t be too hard. I have a loose understanding of it, but I am sure that someone will respond that can help you out. I love my web hosting service though!
Good luck, and I am really excited about the linen!
I use blogger and while it’s not fabulous it’s not bad either. I did not like wordpress but that may be a personal preference…it wasn’t as user friendly or intuitive as I would’ve liked it to be. Typepad seems pretty slick if you’re up for paying the monthly fee.
Hoops or no hoops, giveaways are fun. It’s nice to think one might win some cool stuff just for doing something one does anyway, i.e. reading this great blog. =)
Congratulations to the Winners! I hope you post pics of what you do with the material.
Hugs & Blessings!
