Birthday Time

I’m 46 today. I’m not sure what I think old is anymore because I still feel very young!

I’m celebrating by spending my day working on a double secret quilting project and sneaking away for lunch with my husband.

I’m also giving away this wool felt witch kit by Artgirlz. Isn’t she adorable? (I’ll apologize in advance for not stocking them in the shop. I didn’t think they’d arrive so quickly so I only ordered Christmas kits for sale.)

Play along by sharing a Halloween craft or decorating idea in the comments. Links are good! I’m in a very Halloweeny mood. Winner to be announced on Friday.

Wishing you a festive autumn day!

Happy Birthday and many more! I love your blog and your patterns. I’ve used your Anna Banana table runner to make my daughter a table runner in Halloween Fabrics. It allows for a really fun and different look! I’m making lots of table runners and placemats for presents this year!

    Happy Birthday, Kathy!!
Halloween requires candy corn like Valentine’s Day requires conversation hearts. Absolute necessity.
My favorite Halloween memories are of my homemade costumes by Mom. Witch, princess, ballerina, poodle (blue ribbon!), skunk (blue ribbon!), and stop sign. Go, mom! When I was a starving college student going to a party, I became a spider web by wearing all black and taping on a white electrical tape web. It was a hit and got a huge laugh from a trick-or-treater’s mom I ran into on the sidewalk.

Well, Happy Birthday, Kathy! I am so happy for all your recent success. I love the little witch. I’ve been eyeing those Artgirlz kits, but haven’t bought one yet. I collect witches for Halloween and Santas for Christmas! My favorite Halloween memory as a kid was the many years in a row that my sister and I dressed as witches, thus the collection.

Happy birthday! I so enjoy your blog and cute ideas.

I’m not sure what to think old is either but I DO know I’m not there yet and I am staring 60 in the face. 46 isn’t even close. Enjoy!

Why, you’re just a young bunny (much like myself—-I’ll be 45 next month)! They way I see it, the 40′s are the new 20′s, easily. I’m having a blast, and I know you are too! The glass isn’t half-full—-it’s brimming over!! Enjoy your birthday!! Hugs!

    Happy b-day as well!

Well, given a have a fall birthday as well, here’s my tip for autumn. One of my favorite things to do to celebrate is head over to the apple orchard near me (family owned) and purchase some apple cider. They also have these nice apple peelers that round and core an apple for you. (If you dont have one simple peel an apple, core it and slice it horizontally)

Anyhow, when you are done you end up with basically an nice thick apple slice. If you take a cake decorating gun, but fill it with caramel instead, you can create nice little apple faces that match your mood and compete for the best apple slice. I find kids love this! plus at the end, you get to eat your creations and encourage children to eat a healthy snack instead of a fatty one as well!

Happy belated birthday, I just got to this today. That witchy lady is so cute. We just started a collection of witches for my daughter last Halloween. My favorite Halloween thing to do is carving pumpkins and toasting the seeds on Halloween eve. Also, making anything pumpkin-flavored puts me in such a Fall mood. Enjoy your October!
