Another person I want to thank on the mini-tin project is Sue Bleiweiss, founder of Fibre & Stitch magazine. I was having fits trying to glue the ribbon around the perimeter of the lids. My Sobo craft glue was leaving a milky white residue after drying. Sue recommended Fabri-Tac by Beacon Adhesives. What a life saver. I LOVE this glue. It really does dry crystal clear. I found mine at Jo-Ann’s.

Yes, that’s an excellent glue. I use it in doll-making quite a bit. One word of caution, it dries in the bottle very quickly. So it’s always better to buy the smallest bottle that they carry in JoAnns or Michaels.

question….I am just finishing up a flying geese quilt for my hubbie, while working on the binding I noticed in part of one of the blocks I must have snipped just a little bit of it with my scissors, AHHHH!!!! It would look silly for me to put something over it….do you think I could use a bit of this glue, just a tiny bit to keep that fabric from fraying? just dab it on the little cut?
Kristine: First of all, ugghh! I’ve done things like that before too so I know how you feel. The glue says that it’s washable after 24 hours. Whether it will lock in your fibers is probably debatable. I did a little reading on Fray Check and the FAQs stated it might turn yellow over time so be careful about using it on the right side of a project. Hmmmm.
I think I might get a needle and thread and go to work sort of darning that piece down. Once the quilt is washed and a little crumply it most likely will disappear.

Love this stuff! I used to hem my kids pants with it when they were little. Works great at 7am and you can’t get a needle threaded.
