I have always loved Linda Lee's patterns. Lois Ericson also always has great designs. I have been wanting to make her Kimono pattern.

Kathy, thanks for the wonderful reading and images you provide for me to enjoy on my lunch hour. I am a garment sewer turned quilter, but once in a while I get an itch to make something I can wear. The last time it happened I made this one: http://www.contemporarysashiko.com/gallery/kasumi/kasumi-1.aspx
I don't remember what the pattern maker is, but it is a beautiful pattern. No sashiko on mine, the back inset is a dupioni silk log cabin and the sides are pieced squares like a trip around the world. Otherwise, I LOVE Burda patterns. A loose fitting linnen pants from one of the magazine published patterns is on my sewing machine now.

When I was learning how to sew, years ago, it was in the '70's, and all these hippie peasant blouses were the rage. They were so simple to make; raglan sleeves, drawstring finish at the neckline, and elasticisized sleeves. I haven't sewn clothing in years, but I found this pattern online and want to make myself a few retro-hippie blouses to wear this fall. I have some O-L-D sheets my mom gave me that I'm going to use to make a muslin, and once I make sure the fit is right, I'll be diving in. I would like to make one with some hand embroidery on it, maybe cross stitch done over waste canvas. (?)

I would like to start easily, so I think, maybe this top (http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=2891) from Simplicity. Until now, I only tried very simple child's dress, when talking about clouthes. I do want to starting sewing more in that direction, I just didn't pull up my courage yet.

Well, I have made three fabulous mail sacks over the past month...;0p I have gotten so many compliments on the bags. You probably know about that pattern though. *grin*

I really fell in love with this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/creativereveries/2622632743/

It is McCalls 5388. I want to see if I could make it with Heather Bailey's Red Peony fabric. So bright and cheery!

Sewing - I so want to get on with Burda 9638 for my daughter - she hates dresses but liked this one. It's for her to wear to a wedding in Sept. So better get the skates on!
Thanks

I made my daughter a winter coat from Simplicity 4712 (B - with some alterations). Here's the post about it: http://uklassinus.blogspot.com/2007/09/waiting-for-winter.html

I've only followed 2 other patterns before (child's kimono top and the emmeline apron), but I bought a few patterns recently and I plan to get some courage together and attempt them soon. Well, in the next 5 years. Maybe 10.
