Cindy sent me this photo of her new Mail Sack bag. I’ve had dreams about making this bag with a wool base so when I pulled up the image I got tingly all over. She also said she’s fairly new to sewing. Wow. Yay for creating!

How awesome!
That is a peach of a bag, I love it!
That is seriously awesome.
Very cool bag! I ordered the Bento box quilt pattern from you yesterday and I had a question: I just have a regular 20 year old Husqvarna sewing machine, no walking foot or long arm. I want to make the Bento Box in the small 36″ size. Do you think I can machine quilt it on my machine? Or should I plan on tying or hand-quilting it? Thanks! I love the pink and orange one you did! I am going to make a blue and black and white one for my cousin’s baby boy.
It will just depend on the quilting. The great thing about older sewing machines is that many of them have loads of presser foot torque. Given the size of that quilt you should be able to accomplish straight line quilting with a regular foot.
You don’t mention if you have a darning foot for the machine. Many older machines can be used for free-motion quilting even though they weren’t marketed that way back then. My friend has an old Bernina and she can drop her feed dogs and uses a darning foot to do free motion.
Be sure and send me a link when you finish it! Have fun.
Fantastic!!
Nice bag! Hey! what’s this Bento box thing? I guess I will have to search.
Did anyone tell you that you are the nicest? Well you are. (grin)
