Happy New Year
Jan 1st, 2008 by Kathy

My theme for 2008 is focus. Listening closely to my own voice. Deciding what I really want. Pushing all the clutter to the wayside.
The decluttering kicked off on a physical level in my sewing room. I removed all of the fabrics I keep passing over project after project. Time for them to go. I have two huge bags headed for the quilting program at the women’s prison. I got the crazy idea to list the remaining ones on eBay. Take a look at my listings, everything starts at 99 cents and just needs to go!
This is the Anna Banana table runner I gave my Mom for Christmas. Sherry and Stephanie made some beautiful ones too! It’s the smaller 40″ length. I was debating about the colors for the intersecting squares on my design wall and decided to incorporate all three choices! I quilted it using the suggestions I give for the place mats. A very quick and easy finish.
Happy 2008 to everyone! Reach for your dreams all year long.
If I eat one more Christmas cookie I’m going to burst!

Happy New Year Kathy !!!!!! Clarice
oh wow. love the fuchsia color!!
Happy New Year Kathy.
We all seem to be going for more simplicity this year.
Love the runner.
Happy New Year, Kathy! Enjoyed coming by in 2007 — looking forward to what you have in store for 2008. You may even get me sewing
Love the red binding. You put colors together and they look great… I don’t think I’m as brave as you with colors. Maybe that should be part of my new year goals for the year — to be more adventerous with color.
Happy New Year!
The tablerunner is wonderful. I love the quilting! Great colors.
Happy New Year!
Happy 2008 Kathy ! ~ love Julia x
(oh I ordered some fabric this afternoon, wish I’d known you had listings up then !)
Happy New Year, Kathy!
And a very happy new year to you to Kathy! I’m gradually getting caught up on my blog reading. I’m reading back to mid-October - so if you get some strange very delayed comments you’ll know why!
A great combination of fabrcis, as usual. The quilting is great too.
Beautiful colors! Good theme. I’ll need focus also, for I have quite a few lofty goals I want to accomplish in the next year!
Happy New Year Kathy to you and yours! I love the table runner! Your goal is focus, mine is getting organized, so lot’s of focus needed!
What beautiful colours - I love the combination of patterns too - just gorgeous! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Kathy!
happy new year to you, too!
hope 08 will bring lots of joy, love and even more success for you ^-^
the tablerunner is great. I never would have thought that purple (or fuchsia) would go so absolutely well with blue, but it’s plainly adorable! see… I need to get braver with color combinations. but that’s what makes the difference between an artist (like you) and … well … plain old me.
Happy New Year! Wishing you & yours the happiest days in 2008! Your table runner is feast for the eyes–just beautiful. Your focus for the New Year echoes my own intention. I have a list of guidelines for this year, bringing forth my heart’s truth and living joyfully as I journey along…Here’s to a very creative new year!

That runner is gorgeous! I love the fabrics and color combinations. Great job!
Wishing you a very happy new year!
table runner is simply beautiful, I love the crysanth fabric in the centre panels
even more I love your “focus” mantra, simple but effective. If you don’t mind I shall take it up myself and see where it takes me
(off to look at ebay right now!)
Happy New Year! I too am decluttering my sewing space, although, I am too ashamed to show the photos of before, I have been sewing at my dining room table because it is so bad. Thank you for sharing your inspirations and designs! May 2008 bring you many joys and many new inspirations!!
Your table runner is beautiful! The colors are lovely together. Hmmm… maybe a red and white runner for Valentine’s day!! Yes… a plan!
I would love a Christmas cookie. That sounds sooooo yummy. There’s nothing that stirs memories of ‘Christmas past’, then a cup of tea and a cookie made from your mother’s recipe.
Wisconsin hugs,
Joni
Love the colors! You are kind and so is Stephanie. Making those annabananas as gifts! Silly people! I’ve made two sets (one for Christmas) and can’t bare to part with such lovely, so they reside in my dining room. Maybe one day I’ll stop being so stingy!
Happy New Year!
