Look at these lovely stitch markers that Katrin made me. She’s going to get a big laugh out of this story. When I first received these in the mail several months ago I had absolutely no idea how I was supposed to use them. I couldn’t imagine the scenario that would lead me to put these beautiful handmade charms onto my needles.
Enter stage right: cables! Yay. I twigged on pretty quickly to the four distinct sections of the Martha cable pattern. 17, 20, 51, 20, 17. I had four beautiful rings eagerly waiting. They slid perfectly into place to keep me stitching merrily (and without counting till it hurt) along. Thank you Katrin!

I love the stitch markers, never used them. Your knitting is going very well!!!
Katrin sent me stitch markers too, last year. I knew how to use them, but I had never used needles small enough to slip on the ones she made me. I’ve since discovered sock yarn and small needles. I think Katrin is singlehandedly promoting knitting bravery!
BTW, Anna Banana was featured on Whip Up today (you already knew that though, didn’t ya?).
You go girl!
It was a pleasure, Kathy! ^-^
Of course Kristin is right – I love to see people knit! *gg*
I had a hard time figuring these out when I first got started too! LOL, I love them now lol.
Nice stitch markers can really make it fun to count, or actually to not count.
So cute! I have to admit that I’ve never been able to figure out how to use stitch markers until I recently read that they should go on the NEEDLES, not on the yarn. Duh!
What cool stitch markers! Much fancier than the blah little plastic disks. You are inspiring me to pick up a little knitting project – a little birthday treat to myself, I think! Thank you!
