Christmas Goodness
Nov 28th, 2007 by Kathy

Paula left me a comment Friday telling me they’d gone to the tree farm. That was all I needed. Saturday morning we were off bright and early to Forester Bob’s Tree Farm in Poulsbo. Decorating has been a fiasco. The lights went on Sunday evening. They decided to stop working AFTER they were on the tree. Tuesday I bought new lights. Put them on the tree and… the colors are off. Isn’t it illegal to make lights that are different than all the other strands of multi-colored lights you’ve purchased for the last 20 years? I need to re-charge for round 3 which will require first removing the ornaments Leil and her puppy dog eyes insisted we proceed in hanging.
In the mean time, my yuletide cheer is coming from these stunning Christmas prints I just received from Sew, Mama, Sew. Man, Kristin is speedy. I’m nervous when ordering red fabric online. I hit the jackpot this time. Real red, yay! The snow scene and two coordinating tree prints are all Alexander Henry. The poinsettia print, by Andover, reminds me of a vintage feedsack. It has a lovely hand to it.

Ya know, I am SO ready for Christmas!!!!! LOL
Are those turning into a Christmas Anna Banana? I found a nice vintage looking Christmas print yesterday at hobby lobby of all places! I am thinking of experimenting with Anna- if it turns out not great, well it’s only going to be used a short time every year!!
Those fabrics look great. I love snow scenes, and skaters.
I’m curious about “vintage feedsack” cloth. My mom was just out for a visit last month and she was telling me stories of how Gramma would make her clothes from feedsacks and would tell Grandpa when he went to buy grain - “Now, Dick, try to get more of that blue floral you bought last time!”
Thank goodness someone else is decorating! I feared I was a bit eager.
Lovely fabrics, too. (Humming: “Just hear those sleigh bells…”
I love the tree fabric! I put wreaths on the front door today - my first attempt at getting into the spirit.
ooh that sounds tough! hope that you enjoy the rest of the decorating better. christmas lights put me over the edge… i love them on the tree, hate getting them there.
