This was my take from my visit to Esther’s grand re-opening sale. Let me say for the record, Moda is really doing it for me these days. I generally do not stash fabric. I don’t go on shop hops. I go to the fabric store with a list and a project in mind. I still end up with a fair amount of fabric in my stash because some projects never get past the idea stage. I also make exceptions, like my whole mini-flower obsession binge from Superbuzzy. I REALLY needed to have all those colors on hand just in case.
It’s all kind of a blur now, but sometime on Saturday as I was washing and ironing my new additions intent on my plan, I started noodling over thank you gifts and Christmas creating. Next thing I knew I was cutting into my new fabric (no relation to my original plan), making notes and pulling out odds and ends to go along. When the inspiration hits I go with it!
It’s downloadable, you can wear it around your neck and will be out by the end of the week.

OH I LOVE that one with the pink on top!!!! All of it is lovely!
so it won’t be a hat, right?
as a fan of ds-scarves I’m eagerly waiting for a kathy-scarf… or will it be a cape? a neckwarmer? a fabric necklace?
oh, now you got me thinking!
You always pick the greatest fabrics.
oh, I really like all of those!
Fun, fun, fun!
I recognize that gorgeous brown w/floral on top- I bought some this weekend for no reason at all- save for it’s absolute beauty!
Can’t wait!!
You don’t stock your fabric stash? So, what’s your secret? How do you use such restraint?? I think I know. You actually use your fabrics, you know, making great stuff. Maybe I should try that instead of just hogging it all….
Can’t wait to see your new pattern!
That looks like a great store!! Lucky you to be able to walk in a store with a list! I need a fabric intervention. They just seem to hop into my cart without knowing what they will become!
[...] I am currently at work on a quilt for the holiday season. It’s a very simple one, but along the way I became enamored with one of the fabrics (the photo above does not do it justice…it is soft and dottie and perfect). I went to Joann to buy some more of it (nothing doing, it’s gone forever). Normally, I’m with Kathy. I have a plan when I go into the store (and, yes, I admit it, a list). But a certain fabric sort of called to me, and two yards later… As the lady was measuring the fabric, she said, “It has an Asian feel, doesn’t it? With the little doorways.” And I said, “I was thinking it was kind of Scandinavian.” We both re-looked at it, and realized that we were both right. It was a cool moment. [...]
