Another One
Aug 9th, 2007 by Kathy
Just let me know if you can’t take looking at one…more…Note Taker. I’ve decided they’re like textile comfort food. Same with pencil rolls. Making something again and again that I’m intimately familiar with. Knowing exactly how it’s going to turn out, each and every time. Alternating these projects with endless iteration on new designs is downright therapeutic. This one flew off to a new home with yesterday’s mail. I miss it already.

How about all the mini-quilt love? I’m totally enjoying watching this trend take over blogland. Especially people that are using these as an opportunity to make their first quilt. Absolutely spectacular results, you go Jennifer, time to add Quilting to your categories because I know you’re hooked. Margaret is kicking-off a Four Seasons Mini-Quilt (12″ x 12″ up to 18″ x 18″) swap. More info here.

Not tired of seeing them at all. Just beautiful
I love note takers. I really should make at least one more.
Ohhh, too cute! I’ve never made one of these!!!!
cute!
and it has a red-and-white-polkadot interior!!!
how can one get tired looking at what you create?
no chance to get rid of us…. *eg*
Hmmm, a quilting category. That is an idea.
So cute. I keep seeing these, but haven’t tried one yet.
Ooh, I really love that outside fabric. Such bold design and colors! Maybe it’s time I create a notebook holder for myself.
That’s gorgeous! I ordered my Note Taker pattern on Sunday and was AMAZED to see it in my across-the-country mailbox on Wednesday. Today is Thursday and I’ve already finished one and am plotting my next. The pattern was so clear (I’m a novice sewer, but experienced crafter so I can appreciate clarity). It’s a fantastic way to play with fabric combos in a super-useful project. This is the one project that may force me over the edge into the world of my own blog so I can show off my Note-Taker Stuff. Well done, Kathy!
Lovely note taker again! I couldn’t find the Timtex thing, but finally found Fast2Fuse. I think it’s the same. You fabric-combinations keep on being an inspiration!
Another beautiful notetaker. Always love your fabric choices. I think the whole mini-quilt thing could get rather addictive!
I can be guilty of the same thing… if I find something quick and simple I like, I obsessively make many more than I’d originally planned, in different fun fabrics (like your water bottle pattern which I made a whole bunch of last spring!)
I love it and ordered a pattern last night. Can’t wait to get it.
Wow, these are so gorgeous. I can’t wait until I get paid and can order a pattern. These will be so nice for my friends and I when class starts!
The notetaker is gorgeous and satisfies my yearning for crafty things and stationery! I am also a mini-quilt convertee… I have made one and am all ready for my second. Yours is lovely.
New to your blog via Molly in Japan/Be*mused.I love the idea of the notetaker and woo hoo to you for nailing such a nice order for your pattern AND getting to choose such juicy new fabrics!!I too am a longarm quilter and I have to say your quilter did a fabulous job on your sisters quilt.. Very Nice! My dad is a colon cancer surviver too…lets just say he is/has a brand new a$#hole. It was a tough time for the family. Glad to have found you!!!!
Hi,
I just seem to have fallen in love with the green base fabric with flowers that you used for your latest note taker…..I would like to buy some….would you please direct me to where I can buy some?
LOVE reading your blog.
Rashmi:
There are two green fabrics. The exterior and the interior. The exterior fabric is Etsuko Furuya. I’ve had that fabric for several years now and I no longer see it in print at any of the online sources that carry that line (Purl Patchwork and Superbuzzy). The colors are really brilliant and one of my favorites.
If you’re referring to the flowers on the inside, that cotton print I got from Superbuzzy. They just recently re-stocked it in about 8 colorways. I still think the green is the prettiest and I just ordered some more. I was very traumatized when I’d used it all up!
[…] Lisa got this. I seem to keep getting the better end of this swap thing. […]
Beautiful! I want to make some. Where is this pattern available?
