Note Taker for Quiltworks NW

Here’s my latest Note Taker, a shop sample for Quiltworks NW. They’re now carrying the Note Taker pattern! Yippee. I visited the shop several weeks ago to talk with the pattern buyer and deliver a sample pattern. I ended up leaving the store with a purchase order for my largest order yet and a bag…

Jenny’s Quilt

Finished just in time to make its way back to Missouri and into my sister’s hands. I stitched the label while I was there, of course. It was good to be home. Good to see my sister. Give her a hug in person. I haven’t talked about her cancer before. She was diagnosed with colon…

Gone Fishin’

A beautiful Missouri morning at my Mom and Dad’s house. I’m going to take a blogging and e-mail break, see you all next week!

Hair Clips & Bindings

I spotted a quilter at the Spring Kitsap Quilt Guild Show using these clips to hold in place her hand sewn quilt binding. I finally got around to purchasing a set and using them instead of pins. Wow! What a difference. No more pin pricks or snagged thread. Thanks for all the kitchen curtain love….

Kitchen Curtains

I made these curtains over the weekend. On Saturday they were 14 1/4″ long. Greg came down the stairs after I put them up and said “hmmm, little short?” I was thinking the same thing but having someone else confirm that they were in fact too short was all I needed to fix the problem….

Fabric

Binding for my Wavy Seam Log Cabin quilt. I scared myself looking at the date of that post. The top pieced quickly. The re-work took a few weeks. I did a brain freeze on the sizing and ended up taking off the bottom row and adding two side borders. Then it sat. And sat a…

Pleated Beauty Handbag

This is my first project from Bend-the-Rules Sewing by Amy Karol of Angry Chicken blog fame. I ordered my book via Amazon last week, upon its arrival I was instantly romanced by the cover photo, the Artsy Clutch. The Pleated Beauty Handbag won out when I gave some thought to what would most likely happen…

Jam

Raspberry. More jam. Strawberry. The raspberries and strawberries at Suyematsu Farm got together and decided to ripen at the same time this year. I use berries, sugar, pectin and a 5 minute upside-down flip. A detailed chronicle of last year’s process. We’ve been eating a lot of toast around here. : : : : :…

Table Runner for Marci

I’m not big on swaps. All those little extras to be added. Making everything look pretty in the package. Is my partner going to like it? Too… much… pressure. And then it’s actually got to be put into a box and mailed off. On time no less! So why in the world would I agree…

Family Vacation

Hey everybody, a little unintended blogging break. Last Thursday Greg said “We should do Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons for the 4th of July holiday.” Friday was spent making reservations, mapping a route, doing 7 loads of laundry, filling the gas tank, getting some money at the bank, and asking each other if…
