A few people asked me what my next knitting project was going to be. Drum roll please…
another Chevron Scarf! Ooooh, how exciting. Believe me, picking out the combination of colors is just plain fun. And, heck, after having knit the pattern for 78 inches I could probably do it while sleeping.
To make this post a little more interesting I headed over to Churchmouse Yarns and Tea on Saturday and took a picture of the Socks That Rock yarn as it is sold. The first time I saw these skeins I didn’t really get why everybody thought the yarn was so great. It looks boring.

So, let’s take a look after it gets wound:
I’m still trying to figure out why it looks so different but in the spirit of not thinking too much about my knitting I think I’ll let it go. My two new colors are Rooster Rock and Olivenite. Only 63 inches to go.

I’m glad the knitting bug bit you hard. This new chevron scarf looks great.
Oh yes, this rocks!!
Is there a chance for a tutotial on the scarf??
Ohhh, how pretty! I can’t wait to learn to knit!! My best friend taught me to crochet over 20 years ago and this summer when she is home for a visit, she will be teaching me to knit! Fun times ahead. LOL! Thanks for sharing!
OK, I think I want to move to Bainbridge Island. The stores all look so cute! Of course, the hubby just started a new job at the big “M” in Redmond, so it wouldn’t be very practical…
I love it that it totally clicked for you. I wound my blue & yellow STR into a ball by hand for some reason, and it’s a really pretty ball of color now. Now, knitting with it, that’s another question for another day (or month?).
I love Churchmouse! I was actually ON Bainbridge on Saturday but with the fam so I didn’t get to go in. Sniff.
I’d be interested in hearing your opinion on any difference between making this scarf with Koigu and Socks That Rock. I was thinking about using STR for my next attempt, mostly because I’m curious since everyone seems to love it!
That suble varigation makes such an incredible difference. Love it!
Oooh! I love it! Those colors are great together. Rooster Rock is one of my favorite colorways. I’m glad you’ve discovered the joys of STR.
love it! Two great yarn choices – have fun.
gorgeous! I love how the colors work together- it could almost make a person look forward to cold weather again, just to wear it!
Looks great! Someday I swear I’m actually going to make it into Churchmouse. The one time I’ve gone to Bainbridge since I first heard of the shop (um, four years ago), I was there for barely two hours with both my kids, my parents and my husband, and no one was very keen on the idea of visiting a yarn shop. Damn!
It looks like it’ll turn out great.
Ooh, very pretty! I love the colours that you chose, they work well together. It has a vintage look to it
I like it.
