No, I did not star with Andrew McCarthy in Mannequin. I just look that stiff in all my self-portraits.
This scarf is for Caitlin. She now refuses to partake in any photo shoot that may result in her mug being plastered on my blog. Thank god for 8 year olds that still do anything mommy asks. Caitlin loves the scarf. Perfectly understated in design, color, and length. And most importantly, it’s not itchy.
Joanna made me those gorgeous earrings. I’ve worn them every day for a month.
Pattern: Mother-Of-Pearl Lace Scarf, Churchmouse Yarns & Teas shop pattern (they will send you the pattern if you contact them)
Yarn: Louisa Harding Kimono Angora Pure in color 6
Needles: US #3 Clover bamboo single point 9″
Dimensions: 5″ x 35″
Modifications: The pattern called for Misti Alpaca Lace. After finishing, I’ve been thinking larger needles might have better highlighted the lace pattern with the thicker yarn I chose to use.

I discovered early on that the timer function on my Canon Rebel does not activate the auto-focus feature. What?! You have to focus the shot first? Fine and dandy for a family portrait. Not so swell if no one is in the picture yet. I did a little research and came across the Canon RC-1 Remote Control. I LOVE it. It has two nifty features. It can be set to take the picture instantly or on a two second delay, just enough time to press the button and hide the little remote in your hand before the shutter clicks. And yes! It activates the auto-focus before taking the picture.

What a pretty scarf! And I really like the color. And what is the remote sitting on because it’s beautiful!
The color is really beautiful.
The scarf is lovely, and the colour is gorgeous! Your Mannequin reference really made me chuckle…
Fabulous scarf for Caitlin! I love the fuzziness and the lightness of it. I imagine it feels like air on the neck!
Cool gadget too!
What a lovely scarf.. I really need to go check out that shop! And thanks for the tip on the remote for the Canon.. I always focused on something approximately the same distances away then, while holding down the button halfway, moved the camera back, pressed it all the way, and scurried into position. The remote sounds much easier
The scarf is beautiful! Magnificent shade of blue.
Hi Kathy! It looks beautiful. Caitlin sounds like my sister Jenny. All her childhood and to this day she could never wear anything remotely itchy. Glad your handmade lovely suits her.
Lovely and lacey. I love it!
I think the scarf looks great with your complextion. very pretty. Is that a new quilt at the bottom. It looks like it would be very pretty.
Thanks for the comments on the quilt that’s actually not a quilt. It’s the back side of the table runner (http://pinkchalkstudio.com/blog/2006/08/24/a-little-late-summer-color/)
I made late last summer. I flipped it over for a little spring color.
that scarf is so pretty and fuzzy it looks like a cloud!
Beautiful scarf, you are talented at everything! I have a Rebel too..I must get this remote, thanks for the tip
Lovely scarf! I will have to look up that Canon remote. I am wondering if it is compatible with the one that I have.
Very beautiful turquoise scarf! Check out my knitting at http://www.knitnstuff.blogspot.com
A beautiful scarf, such a nice shade of blue and the pattern is so delicate. It looks so warm and soft.
I got a Canon Rebel II for my highschool graduation – then a few years later got an Elan II JUST TO HAVE ONE OF THOSE REMOTES!! lol I love that remote, and especially because it will snap onto the camera strap. But as it goes, I rarely use my film cameras anymore……….
