Kitsap Quilters Show 2007

This was my favorite. It was created by Cynthia Keim. When I got home and downloaded my photographs I realized I had only taken 3 shots of quilts from the actual show. I took 11 of the vintage quilts on display. They stole the show in my opinion. I LOVED this one:

All the quilt show pictures on Flickr.

I was the chairperson for the Members’ Boutique and all ran smoothly. It ended up being a LOT of work. I have this habit of volunteering for things without really thinking through how much time and commitment it will take. This job was one of those. I was there Thursday to set up, all day Friday and all day Saturday, staying late on Saturday to break down the boutique. I finished up the accounting for the 15 participants yesterday. It was a very informative experience. All I need to know about craft shows, like I could NEVER go on that circuit, EVER. I took some detailed pictures of the booth, the setup and the items for sale. Follow the link above if you’re interested.

Judy Robertson had a booth at the show. What a lovely person she is. Can’t wait to do some work with the hand dyed fabrics I purchased.

Emanuela Aureli is a friend and jewelry artist living in Santa Fe, NM. She’s going to be at The American Craft Council show in Baltimore this weekend. Their website has incredible images of all the represented artists, they have a great interface that makes it easy to navigate from one to the next. Have fun!

A HUGE thanks to Tippy for alerting me to some funky photos in my water bottle carrier tutorial. Supposedly a Flickr server issue. Given the pornographic content of one of the photos it sure seemed like hackery. Let’s hope all is OK. Curious to know if anyone else has run into similar problems.

I know of another blogger who had similar problems — she uses blogger, and saw her images changing before her eyes, though the code did not. It sounded like hacking to me!

Yes, I had a very funky photo show up on a button in my sidebar, and the person who I got the button from also had the questionable photo show up on her site. It’s gone now, she didn’t even see it, so hopefully that’s the last of that!

Well, good work!– I do the same thing, and am always caught in the enthusiasm of the volunteering part. I don’t think it through and am always shaking my head at myself during the actual “doing” part of whatever it is I over-volunteered for. At least you learned some things as you did it! I LOVE that second quilt you posted.

The American Craft Council brings their show to where I live each December. It is a wonderful show with beautiful things. We go most years, though we did decided to skip last year as we didn’t think navigating the crowds with a 2 1/2 -year old would be very enjoyable. We will probably go again this year now that she is a little older.

Isn’t it amazing how tiring the shows are? I volunteered to set up the dolls for our doll club booth at the Sew & Quilt Show this past weekend. Luckily I had some help, but we ended being there most of Thursday to do that. Then I was at the show all day Friday and Saturday. Fortunately someone else was going to take the dolls for another show at the end of Sunday so I didn’t have to go back. (Considering that I got sick that was a good thing.) How did the selling of your cute little pincushions go?

The quilts are beautiful–I so love the color blue.

My friend posted vacation pictures on Flickr and as I was viewing them, an extremely pornographic photo showed up. I was so shocked that she would include such a photo–but, of course, she didn’t. I notified her and the photo disappeared. Way too weird. Flickr was down the other night and I suspect that someone hacked into it and caused this problem.

Glad you got the photo mishap figured out — although it seemed more like a hack-job than a “server issue” to me. Anyway, glad I could help!
