Mini Pincushions

My take on the little pouf ball pincushion. Quick and easy. Created after making 10 of these. Now for the fun part. Giveaway time. Leave a comment and tell me which one you like best and why (click on the pic for a bigger view). I’ll leave the drawing open until 12:00 noon PST Thursday. The winner gets the one they chose!

* Eeeek, a bit of clarification. From some of the comments I’m not sure I was clear enough about what I’m doing. I’m going to draw one name on Thursday afternoon. The winner will get the pin cushion they liked best. I’m planning to sell these at the quilt show and later in my Etsy shop (the one that doesn’t exist yet). I was hoping to draw some market research along with a fun giveaway. Hope I didn’t confuse anyone. Good luck!

You’re kidding, right? If I said I liked the green one in the center of the bottom row it wouldn’t show up on my doorstep, would it?

I love the green swirl pouf ball in the center of the bottom row. I especially love the happy swirl on the red “leaf”!

Hmmmm…. I love it because the pouf-i-ness and the swirl-i-ness make me feel all happy inside. If I was holding it, I would want to touch the little pouf to my cheek. It just looks like something one would need to feel with their cheek as well as their hands.

    : )
Gail… wishing I could plant seeds for these and have a whole bunch appear in my spring garden!

I’m a long time lurker on your blog and I just wanted to say that these are the most adorable little pin cushions ever. I love the little blue pincushion in the corner. Something about the swirl on the blue leave just reminded me of the ocean and I love the ocean. They are super sweet!

I love the purple/pinkish one because they are my favorite colors and it gives me a good feeling. Very cute!

Oh how fun!!! These are all so pretty and grouped together like that they look like a little flower garden of prettiness :)
I love the second from the left, middle row.

Well now, how can I pass up such an opportunity? My favourite is the one on the far right, bottom row. I like it best because I like the contrast between the light cushion and darker leaves, the embroidery shows up really well on the leaves, and they are in some of my most favourite colours.

    They all rock, though.

All your pincushions are so sweet. I especially like the green swirl one in the bottom row and the one next to it on the right. Oh gosh they’ll all so cute. You do such beautiful work.

Opps, I forgot to say why.

Because the green is bright and springy and also the little swirls are the perfect size for the size of the pin cushion. It’s a perfect marriage of fabric and form.

I was going to comment even without the giveaway… :) My favorite one is the orange one (middle row, far left). Orange is my favorite color, and I like the contrast of the green leaf!

How to decide when they’re all so cute? I would have to say one of the orange coloured ones – because they remind me of little mandarin oranges – which I consume boxes and boxes of when they’re available!

This is like picking your favorite puppy! I really like the blue one on the second row, second from the left. It’s a little bit vintage, a little bit colonial and just plain CUTE! It’s a little fatty which mostly reminds me of me. It has absolutely no colors that I already own, but somehow its the one I’m most attracted to…
It makes me think of mary englebreit’s flowers in civil war times, dead of winter..burst of color.

The read and green on the top left – love the embroidery on the leaves – they are all wonderful!

You’ve outdone yourself!! These are fabulous.

I like the top right one, though certainly not more than the others. It makes me think of spring. Thank goodness since we are supposed to get 6 inches tonight!

I said top right; I meant my other right LOL

The top left one, bright pink!!

Orange – centre row, far left! Love it. Perfect chrysanthemum fabric. Perfect orange and green leaves. You have a wonderfeul sense of colour. Thanks for sharing.

Decisions, decisions…. Middle row, far left. It just looks like a perfect little flower. I’m more traditional than I thought! (And, as I glance at the comment directly above, not especially unique. Sorry ’bout the echo, Ginger!)

I love all of them. They are all adorable. I’d love to see them all on sticks and put into a glass vase. That would be really pretty. My favorit is the bottom row left. Blue and green with dots and leaves.
You do such great work! I love the photo.

Oh, they’re all so cute! My favorite is the orange one, middle row, with the gorgeous large print floral fabric. I think my favorite detail is the embroidery on the leaves. What a great idea — and so beautifully photographed.

OOh! Fun! I love them all, but the last is my favorite. It reminds me of the wallpaper in my bedroom at my mom’s house. When I was little, I used to stare at it and imagine that the little brushstroke flowers were actually blooming and moving around in the breeze. It used to help me fall asleep. Thanks for reminding me of that! ;)

So incredibly hard to choose a favorite as they are all so wonderful. But I just love the red and green one on the top row left side.

I love the blue and yellow one in the very center, for the color and the stitching on the leaves. But they’re all adorable!

I think we’re all winners here, because I know that I, for one, am inspired!

I *love* the orange one, second from right in the middle row. Orange is my color and I could see a tiny pincushion like this attached to my sewing machine – sooo much better than the velcro-y ones you can buy in the stores. Very pretty!

The orange with the green and orange leaf. It looks like a bright and cheerful flower, and orange has been appealing to me more and more lately (can you change your favorite colour?)

Oh, these are adorable! The bottom lefthand one is my favorite–that blue/brown/green combo is my new color obsession (plus it matches my blog ;) )

    Bottom row, center.

    Or…maybe bottom row, left.

No, wait, center row, far left.

    Oh, I give up.

    Pick me! Pick me!

i love the first one, dark pink with orange. yum

I was drawn to the green one, bottom center, first. I’m also drawn to the orange one, center left. But, in the end, I would buy the red one on the top left after much dithering. I think the larger prints with fewer colors look more flower-like. I *think* that’s the underlying theme to my choices.

    Very nice.

Wow, hard to pick just one! I think my favoritest favorite would be the top left. I think it’s because I like the contrast between the reddish fabrics and the green leaf, and I also like how you can see the green leaf on the right-hand side.

I also like the green swirl fabric and the one directly to the left.. those just happen to be some of my favorite colors though :) And I like the one that kind of makes the top of a triangle between those two because of the stitching around the blue leaf. Probably not too helpful, eh? They’re all too cute!

Well, I love them ALL. But I can choose one. :) I love the one in the middle row, second from left, with the blue leaf and red whip stitching. How long did it take you to make them? I think they will be a hit at your show.

I like the lower left. I had a discovery the other day that a majority of my wardrobe is this color – although they were purchased at different times and places. So I guess there must be something about it!

I like the green one with the swirl design and how the swirl is also on the red leaf as well. Good color combo. My second favorite is the orange one in the middle row on the far left. The way the fabric is set, it looks like a real bloom–a dahlia.

I also have an Etsy shop [that doesn't exist yet]…I’m just trying to researh/learn all the ins & outs of having a shop before I open one.

    Best wishes!

I like the left-most one in the middle row – I often think that orange is an under-represented colour – bring back the orange! Also the green swirly one in the bottom row – but it seems quite popular and I like to go for an underdog.

Good luck with the etsy shop!

I’m loving the whole left side! Top row 1st – Middle row 1st & 2nd – Botton row 1st. But if I had to choose just one – middle row 2nd from left – blue & red flowers – speaks to me most. Looking forward to your shop opening.

They all looks so cute! But my favorite one is the first one, the hot pink one on the top row because it looks so poofy and cute and valentinesy. It also looks more like a flower.

They are great! My favorite is the orange geometric (and second favorite is the orange floral with the green leaf) because they remind me of little tangerines!

They all look lovely!! But my fave would have to the blue one on the left bottom row. The colours and design of the fabric just grab me. Love it!!

They’re all great Kathy! My favorites are the two orange ones on the second row. The larger one because it has great contrast stitching on its green leaf and a very flower petal looking poof. And the smaller one because the pearl button picks up on the cream accent in the poof fabric. Have fun selling them. :-)

I like the bright orange one in the 2nd row- 2nd from right with the octagon shapes on it. Because I am all about bright colors and funk these days. Pick me! Pick me! I think that pincushion would be very happy living in warm & sunny Florida and I promise if we have to evacuate for any hurricanes this year it will come with us, I will not leave it to fend for itself in a Category 5!

My fave is the pink flower, far left, middle row. It reminds me of a pillow that my great-grandmother used to have. These are so cute (I can’t tell how mini they are). How sweet of you to give one of them away!

Well, I really like them all, but if I must choose, the brown and pink one. I am really into brown’s right now and I love pink. Also, did you know I don’t have a pincushion? I use an empty baby food container.
Anyways, I think these will do well at the quilt show and in the etsy shop.
