My take on the little pouf ball pincushion. Quick and easy. Created after making 10 of these. Now for the fun part. Giveaway time. Leave a comment and tell me which one you like best and why (click on the pic for a bigger view). I’ll leave the drawing open until 12:00 noon PST Thursday. The winner gets the one they chose!
* Eeeek, a bit of clarification. From some of the comments I’m not sure I was clear enough about what I’m doing. I’m going to draw one name on Thursday afternoon. The winner will get the pin cushion they liked best. I’m planning to sell these at the quilt show and later in my Etsy shop (the one that doesn’t exist yet). I was hoping to draw some market research along with a fun giveaway. Hope I didn’t confuse anyone. Good luck!

They are all so adorable and beautiful! Hard to choose just one, but right now the brown/blue one on the bottom left is calling out to me. Can’t wait to see your etsy shop.
I love the 2nd one from left in the middle row! Great floral fabric chosen!
Really, we have to pick? I guess the second one in from the left on the second row is my fav, I like the fabric and also the blanket-stitched leaf.
I like the pink and brown one the best but it was a tough choice since I like them all! I can’t wait for the shop!
I love the first one – top left. It looks like a perfect little flower just picked from the garden. They are all beautiful but this one just caught my eye.
I love the apple green one. It reminds me of eating Granny Smith Apples! The swirlys make me think I’m eating that apple on a breezy day! : )
Good luck at your quilt show. Your stuff is awesome!
My favorite is the orange one in the middle row all the way on the left. I am an orange fanatic. I love it. Also I think all of the pin cushions look cute – they are fun and inspirational. I think they’ll sell really well.
i love the last row, the farthest left one b/c the colors are amazing
love them all, but fav is the middle one in the last row. green is my fav color & that shade of green reminds me of spring.
They are all great and some in my favorite fabrics! Great variety in colors and prints. My favorite is the one to the far left in the top. Looks very much like a flower with contrast red and two green leaves.
Boy you’ve been busy! I don’t need a pincushion (there’s some market research for ya!) but I love the look of these, especially all together – and I’d probably be tempted to buy one just because you made it. I like the #4 orange flower with the petal print and the #10 green flower with the swirls. Those fabric prints really read flower to me. Seriously though — don’t draw my name. Look at all the folks above that want your work though!
Cute, cute, Kathy! My favorite is the orange and red one, middle row, second from the right. Just something about the geometric shapes centered on a circle… Of course, I don’t anticipate winning, because unlike you, I don’t win every time I enter something.

So Adorable. I think that I like the one on the bottom left. It is the colours that make that one stand out to me. Great job. Have fun at the quilt show. I think that these little pin cushions will be a hit.

Okay, I’m going to post this before reading all of the other comments because I’m afraid my words will be completely lacking and everyone will have already loved my favorite little pincushion! Ms. Second-from-left, Second Row agrees with me in her sophisticated simplicity and in my favorite colors. She reminds me of living in Japan, and of my mother (who always had a red tomato pincushion and could have used this beauty!). I love the whip stitching detail and how I could have it sitting on the kitchen table next to me right now and it would fit in with everything I love in this little home. They’re really very sweet and I’m sure they’ll be a knock-out at the show!
I love the green and red one in the middle of the bottom row. I love green and I think red is it’s complimentary color so they look happy together.
I really like the orange one with the pink hexagons for its bright colors and pattern. My second favorite is the swirly green one. They are all fabulous though!
Well, I love them all. There’s a very slim chance that I’ll win one however if I do I’ll let you pick one for me!
This is my first comment on your blog, so I don’t need to be entered in the drawing. I just wanted to say these are all so adorable! The bottom three are my favorites – the fabrics and color combinations are inspired! I’m inspired, too!
so cute!! I like the second from the left in the second row. I’m a sucker for blue and green. But they are all absolutely lovely.
Yowza, you got a lotta comments, lady! I like the larger orange one, cut with the flower petals on top. I’m a sucker for that kind of chrysanthemum-esque flower imagery, and I like orange. Not sure if that’s helpful market research, though…
Ohhhhhh….last one on the second row. Good enough to eat! These are adorable! You crafty thing you. Love the snail trail pattern in light stitching on the dark colors. That’s really cathcy on the eyes.
hello! down here on the bottom! #72.
these are so very cute! just wanted to drop in and say your heart has flown the gallery!
your work is truly truly lovely!
thanks so much again!

WOW!! Good way to gets tons of comments! I love the first one on the bottom row. It’s the teal and brown combo that makes it so wonderful. Those are the colors I like to wear so it would be fun to match something in my sewing room.
These pincushions are so sweet. My favorite is the second one in the second row – you can never go wrong with red, white and blue, IMHO.
I love the blue and red one in the middle row, second from the left. I’m about to start a baby quilt for a little one who is due in May (not mine!), and those will be the colors for the quilt. I especially love the blue leaf with red blanket stitching!
I am a first time visitor-I love the pincushions! How clever! I love the one in the second row all the way to the right-pale blue with rosebuds. I am charmed by your whole blog-I see I’ve been missing so much.
Absolutely the far right one, middle row, because I LOVE the vintage-y rose fabric. Just beautiful!!! What wonderful taste you have – all the combinations are beautiful!
2nd row, 2nd from the left. It looks like a kittycat!
They are all Wonderful. My favorite is the pink purplish pincushion.
they are all way cute!!! i love the green one because it makes my eyes go all swirly and the red leaf just makes me plumb happy!!!! and after all of the thunderstorms and power outages we’ve had tonight, that’s a good thing!!!
ahhhh, so hard to choose, but so fun to think about. i think my favorite is the pink and brown one in the middle of the top row. i love the colors together, but what really drew me in is the combination of the machine- and hand-sewn decoration on the leaves. and i like how the stitching is leaf-like, which i think adds to the organic (yet refined) quality.
they are all very lovely. bUt if my name was drawn I would want eh first one top left red flower. Red and green leaves. That one is just charming.

Oh my goodness, one favorite? Seriously?
The green one, with the swirlies. Why do I like it best? Cause you made me choose just one, that’s why!
Darn! I wish I had done what Beth did and not read any comments before commenting. Then I wouldn’t have noticed what Siew wrote which described my favorite perfectly and why.
So, I resorted to asking my 5 year old who has just started sewing at school and at home. This is what she said for her favorite (which is the 4th one from the left, second row): it’s pretty because it has all the hot colors of the rainbow.
Who knew rainbows had hot colors?
Love em all!
LOVE pin cushions!
In fact I post all my thrifted pin cushons on yesterday’s post!
I hope I win one of your awesome pin cushions!!!
How cute. They look like tiny, flying zakkas! My favorite is the second from left in the middle row, because it looks like it has a face with a cute button nose!
I like the one with the Amy Butler Belle fabric, because it is the same line as the quilt I am working on now!
These are so sweet! I love the pink and brown and I love the vintage rose and I like the last one on the bottom a lot too. But the one that is most “me” is the blue and yellow in the center. I think I like the clear white of the background and the fun colors. If I were buying, I would be most tempted by the pink/brown, but I would forego it for the blue and yellow because it would match my sewing things the best.
Good job! I hope you’re getting lots of good marketing research from this. I think it was a great idea.
I love the white with blue flowers that is second from the left in the middle row. It is so perfect and sweet and I am a sucker for anything with blanket stitch on it. I couldn’t believe how hard it was to actually choose one favorite though. They are all adorable. Hope I win!
i love the orange with the green and orange leaf. Just love those colors!
Love the first one in the third row…blues and browns. My favorite colors. Your pincushions are beautiful. Simple, but beautiful in it’s simplicity. I’m sure they’ll be a HIT! Thanks for sharing and offering one up for a drawing.
The smallest one, the runt. Ridiculed by all the bigger mini pincushions. Poor poor pincushion. Acne spots all over its face, with a big shiny one on the tip of its nose. If it had eyes, they’d be behind thick glasses. Poor unloved pimply, blind, runty pincushion. No one else can see your beauty. I do.
It’s really hard to choose but! If I were buying a gift, I’d go with the yellow-and-blue number right smack in the middle. But the two that really charm me are the one to the left of yellow & blue — red and blue floral — and the far right of the middle row — rosebuds. I think I’m a bit old-fashioned.
The embroidery on the leaves are what would make me pay more for them or really, even decide to buy them. It’s lovely. Oh man. They’re all wonderful. Picking felt that highlights the fabric colors, the chain stitch on the rosebud one… I just like looking at them!
So hard to choose only one…but I’ve got to go with the 3rd row, left, as my first choice. I have that same fabric in my stash and perhaps that’s why I am drawn to it. I also love the stitching on the leaves. The swirl gives it some motion and echoes the leaf print of the fabric. These are too pretty to leave in the sewing room, though. They need to be out in the world, pinned to a jacket or tote bag:)
I love the limey green one, centre bottom row, and equal second favourites are the first three from right to left of the middle row, although they are all great.
I think my favourite is the pinky/orange one on the top row, because I like the material. My second favourite is the orange hexagon one in the middle row: I like the way the pin is in the centre of a hexagon.
The leaves matter as well: I like the botton life in each of teh bottom row pincushions, because they look leaf-like. The chainstitch seems too dominant for my tastes, but might work in another colour. I like the blanket stitch edging as well.
Hope that helps!
oh – how fun! first I like the green puff, middle bottom row. It looks like spring, and after the dump of snow that we got this week – I’m ready for spring. then my eye keeps landing on the pink and brown one in the middle on the top row… how can you pick just one!
How lucky that i happen to find your site today
I’d be totally lucky if I was to have the orange geometric pincushion (2nd row, 4th in) or the lovely green swirly one. But honestly, they are all beautiful.
How wonderful! A PCS handmade pincushion giveaway! I’M HOPING FOR THAT FANCY AQUA/BROWN ONE ON THE BOTTOM LEFT!!!
