Darling Dachshunds

Caitlin chose the Darling Dachshunds pattern from Sublime Stitching. Her embroidery stitches are so perfect. She loves how her shirt turned out. The colors… well… I think I’ll be encouraging some plain white cotton next go around. I’m always inspired by Sally’s (shim + sons) use of shapes and patterns. I was definitely thinking about her creations when I added the paw print fabric squares on point.

After uploading my previous post I realized I’d attached the Lucky symbol upside down! I used a seam ripper to cut the fabric out just inside the machine embroidery. I then proceeded to re-attach the Lucky symbol upside down for a second time! Geez. Please tell me I’m not the only person that does this type of thing. Out came the seam ripper again to undo those beautiful leaves. Then a final re-attachment:

I love Caitlin’s colors! You aren’t kidding- her stitches are amazingly perfect! You should email these to Jenny Hart- there’s a sharing area on the website (you probably already knew that, though! ;)

That dog print is really cute. Lovely job all around and I like the way the character turned out now that it says lucky instead of whatever upside down lucky means.

Wow – Caitlin really does have some nice even stitches. Let me guess, you were resewing on the Chinese character late at night? Things like that always happen to me late at night.

You are NOT the only person you does that sort of thing! I’ve mixed up a seam before and un-sewn just to turn around and sew it wrong again! That’s why they invented the seam ripper!

Excellent doggie and her stitches are so neat and perfect. She should be very proud of herself! Love the cute little doggie with his chest all stuck out there!!

Cute doggie fabric… and if you ever see any Siamese cat fabric, let me know!

I think… the luck upside down means that if she looked down at her shirt, it’d be right side up to HER. :)
