Several weeks ago I received an e-mail from my BackTack III partner Tami at Lemon Tree Tales. It was another thank you note from her, this time with an attachment. She had made note of the fact that I wanted a header for my blog. She made me one! In fact, she made me three from which I could choose. How awesome is that. It’s taken me over 2 weeks to figure out how to upload and customize my blog code to use it.
On the topic of WordPress blogs. Technically speaking, there’s a gazillion things you can do to customize your blog just the way you want it. If you’re rusty on your CSS and HTML coding skills (or never learned ANY of it like me) it can mean a lot of hair pulling and confusion. I used to make a living as a software developer so I’m eating a lot of crow as I attempt to style my blog the way I’d like it. I thought it would be easy enough to figure out, and it sort of is, it just takes me SO long to figure out each thing.
Thanks Tami for figuring out how to do the banner. It kept me from going bald. I really want that pink sewing machine (she found it on eBay).

The header is SOOOO NICE! I don’t think that I can put my own header on in the free wordpress account that I have. That pink machine is perfectly you.

Very nice. I want my own website, but I don’t know any HTML either and it just makes me feel rather old and stupid not knowing how to do anything.
That header really is fantastic. My daughter would be in her element with a pink sewing machine.
Actually I don’t know anything about html or programming. I just googled in a question about a custom banner for wordpress and found someone who had a template. The rest is Photoshop, which I use a lot for work. I need to learn more. It’d be fun to do more of this.
(Just landed … lots of people at the airport, but the weather is great!)
Wow! That is so cool! The banner is awesome!
