My sewing room turned into a pumpkin last night. My sister, her husband and their two kids are arriving today for a four day visit. I knew when I took over the extra bedroom there were strings attached. “I can just take the bed apart and put it back together when guests come,” she said breezily. Simple enough. That part actually was pretty easy. Taking down of all my work in progress, putting away abandoned projects and general tidying was another story. Goodness, I have a LOT of stuff. I love it all too. No plans to get rid of any of it! It’s all organized now except for a few final bags that I was too tired to sort into anything resembling order. I’m really excited for my sister’s visit to end so I can move back in, just kidding Liz.
The entire house is clean as a matter of fact. Even the laundry room got a spruce up. Gosh, is my house really that dirty on a regular basis? Not sure I want to know the answer. I’m going to savor the moment, I’m sure by the end of the week we’ll be back to normal chaos around here.

lucky sister! my mother was going to come by on sunday, i spent hours cleaning up all the little craft piles. turns out she didn’t show, but i have to say it is a whole lot more satisfying to have it clean – at least for a day or two.
Love those curtains! A clean house – I wonder what that is like? Have a nice visit with your sister.
This is why one should have company at least once a year….a clean house.
Wow – that sure sounds like a lot of work, but I’m sure in the long run, all the cleaning and organizing will make you a more organized crafter. I have to spend time once a month getting everything organized otherwise my craft room is a mess and every time I go in there I feel like I’M a mess. I hope you spent some fun and precious time with your visiting family.
