This week’s Whiplash challenge was that kick in the pants I needed. I’ve been looking at my cat’s water and food bowls sitting on a ratty, torn magazine for the last year. Look at that July 2005 issue date! I pulled the oil cloth out of my stash, cut out two fish shapes, sewed them together with my walking foot attached to the machine (little slippery), made some binding fabric and then attached it. Sew simple. I even upgraded Simba’s food bowl to bright orange Fiestaware. I had a huge smile on my face just taking the pictures. Thanks Whip Up for the inspiration. A tiny corner of my everyday life is that much brighter.
